Thread: How to make Space Stations playable and boardable

The solution is already in the game: use the Tutorial Station as the base for a space station. Have an option to dock with a station when you /comm with it. Of course, the station will be updated so it won't be exactly like the new player tutorial, but its layout can be the same. Various parts of the station can be customized as facilities. For example, the place where you can store your clone data in the tutorial can be the Medical Center portion, the palce where you kill the psycho can be the Cantina portion, and so on. This will be a good place for players to interact and get together for groups and hunts. They can also heal up here if they die. Perhaps, if possible,using the current cloning and insurance terminals in the tutorial as cloning facilities on the stations.A player can store their clone data here to avoid getting wounds and BF in space, but the clone is ONLY valid if you die in the same sector as the station you've stored your data at.I dunno, just a thought in implementing something that is already in the game into JTL.

yeah, would seem to make sense. all the material and conent is already in game. they can just implement it to a wider field

Before SWG, the only online games i've played was diablo II, and Earth and Beyond... and of course some brain dead shot em up games.... but the Devs could really learn something from E&B, every where you go there is space stations even capital ships that are boardable... and this really was a GREAT feature... plz i hope the devs read some if these post.. because this could really become the perfect finishing touch to JTL... great idea man..... lets work on advertising this great idea some more!!!.... ***** stars to you mate

I'm not sure how they have it split up, but probably the only thing they would have to do is upgrade the hardware for the Tutorial server. (If it's a separate server built to only handle the influx of new ones.)

lol you could even take the model for the corvette mission in-game to make corvettes boardible. That way you would have to use a starship to disable the corvette, then board it with some friends, and fight your way to the bridge.

This is the exact idea I had. Imagine that you take 10 people up in you Decimator/YT/Nova and disable the Corvette. Then you start a docking procedure from there you escape pod hatch would disappear and a tunnel would be inserted graphically where you could move over to the other ship. It could still be instanced where you MPS and the corvette would both become invulnerable to anyone else in space while you complete your mission (retrieve stolen plans, destroy vette, assinate leader, etc). But I would like for it to much easier than the actually Vette mission. Just my 35 cents

aaaaaaand you'd have to make it back to your ship before the corvette exploded, or else you'd be fried.
