Mission 1 on Tier 3 for the Storm Trooper Squadon takes about 90 mins to do and you have to do it in a group. I must say that really upsets me. No mission should take this long to do and the chance of failure is so high, that if you do fail you probably wont want to do it again. Now whats pissing me off even more is that simple fact that I am finally 3-2-2-2 and got my cool Tie Interceptor, and I am dieing more now and faster now then I was when I had my Crappy Tie/In with the same parts.. W-T-F is going on with this game???? I use to be able to rip up B-wings in my old ship, now I am luck if I can beat one..
Lets put it out to be heard here people.. I REALLY hate missions where I have to group in order to advance my skills. I have NEVER done any of the major missions like the Corvette, or DWB because of how insanely hard it is. I dont find facing odds that one person cant beat FUN!!!!! I really cant stand it.
This game makes no sense.. When your Tier 1 you make no money and its hard to survive.. Once you get 2-2-1-1 you start to say HEY I can finally beat a few things. But by the time your 2-2-2-2 and you start tier 3 missions you are more weak then you were at 0-0-0-0.....
I am just not digging this whole group thing just to advance my levels. I am really not digging how you have to do missions in order to train.
There is nothing fun about spending 500K on a Tie Interceptor or whatever the price is to have it trashed 1 hr later and buy another one because you cant survive a single mission. Screw the combat Revamp, how about fixing JTL so its playable.......

What kind of components are in your ship?
If you're using generic level 1 stuff, your ship is gonna be weak no matter what kind of chassie you use.

I'll go ahead and five star you now, to help counteract the 1 star you're inevitably going to get. Your also going to get flamed by people who claim they can solo them just fine, and that you should getbetter pilot skills (these people will most likely be rebel pilots, flying the X-wing, with the 100k mass, 3 projectile weapon slots, and 2 missile slots).
As for me, I'm 3/3/2/2, and yes, they are hard as hell. I'm not sure what's happening with your TIE interceptor, as I was in the process of helping a friend do his second Tier 3 mission (for Black Epsilon) in one, and was doing better in that than the TIE/ln I had to use forTier 3, Mission 2 (until he CTD'd, and we ended up failing the mission). If it helps, here's what I have in my interceptor (not able to log in to the actual game to get actual specs): I have a low mass, 12k reactor (level 2), I put in 1k shields, a weapon that does 2.5k max damage, an engine that is going 70.3 with pitch/yaw/roll rates all around 55.0, and front and back armor that is about 500 hp a piece (the one on the back has a little more, but I can't remember). I have a level 1 chaff launcher, and I've dropped the missles, droid interface, flight computer and boosters. All told, I'm nearly maxed on my mass, but I'm a few hundred under the 12k.
I've also found that it helps to disable the targets, rather than outright kill them, and don't try and stay straight on for too long, you will need to juke and dive. Of course, I have yet to be able to solo the missions, but I've been lucky to have a guild mate that is at the same level as I am, and we're helping each other out by being wingmates. Hope all this helps. Beyond that, I have no clue, lol.

Yes, they are very hard. I don't mind the difficulty but I sure do mind the length. I've failed my current mission four times. I need a bigger crew, but it seems like everyone in my guild is getting tired of doing these long missions.

I wouldn't mind so much, if there was a way to save, or be able to pick up from where you left off. I like that these missions are a little longer, I just don't like the fact that if you fail at any one point, you have to redo it all over again.

Oh yeah, that would actually be perfect.

Yeah, especially if you end up failing because the game crashes, as happened to my friend earlier

um..... player ships are never destroyed unless you delete them.... they also do not take damage.... the components take damage, but you should be looting enough of these to replace them.... times 5

Your 1111 Rebel Pilot gets a Ship that doesnt have 19,000 mass is why. At tier 3 we get our nice 50K mass tie interceptor with 1 laser and 1 missile while rebels get a 3 laser and 1 missile ship with 100K mass. Rebels get things so much easier. Tier 3 tie fighters? big freaking deal. I had 2 Rebel spy "tie fighters" attack me both tier 3. No shields etc so they drop faster then a fly on sith. Yet we in our little tin cans with 50K mass have to fight usually 7+ shielded tier 3 ships at a time. hardly fair
