Ywing is a 2 person ship 2nd gun needs a copilot. Ywing Longprobe has both guns fired by pilot.

On the Y wing the 2nd weapon is turret only, so you'd need someone in your turret to fire it, I believe it works normally on the Longprobe version as it is not a 2 person vehicle.

Yeah it suprised me when it changed also, since mid way through the beta it did fire both weapons, but I believe they made the change for the Ywing when they made it a two person ship and fixed the TIE Aggressor turret to not auto target and fire but be player controlled also.

Anyone have any issues getting the second weapon to fire? I have played imp and privateer into tier 3 and I have not encountered this problem with those characters. Doesn't seem to matter what weapon I put in that second weap slot, doesn't matter which mouse button/keyboard key I assign to fire that weapon, it just won't fire. Any suggestions or info would be much appreciated.

You need a gunner in the turret to fire the second weapon in the non-longprobe version of the Y-wing

The Y-Wing's second weapon is a turret for a gunner (another player).
The longprobe is the 2 gun for the pilot ship.

There are two versions of the Y-Wing: Standard and Longprobe. The Standard is available at Tier 1, it is a multipassenger vessel (2) people and the second weapon is operated by the gunner in the turret. The Longprobe is available at Tier 2 and is a single seat spacecraft. Both weapons are fixed-forward.
The reason your second weapon isn't firing is probably because your in the Standard. Only the passenger can operate the turreted weapon.

Yeah, I didn't know that when I got my Y-Wing a few weeks ago, and I thought I did something wrong. Then I found out I needed the Longprobe if I wanted to fire both cannons, so I got one as soon as I could. It's frustraiting when both descriptions on the blueprint are exactly the same except for at the very top where it says "the Y-Wing..." or "the Y-Wing 'Longprobe'...". If it said "The Y-Wing requires a secondary pilot to fire the upper turret", it would've made less confusion for me. ![]()

Does the second turret have a full 180 degree sphere of fire or is it fixed/more fixed?

It seems to have a full 360deg rotation for coverage ofthe upper hemisphere of the craft. Although I'm not sure if it can fire straight up.
