Thread: Clearly PvP was no challenge

its not possible for a 2111 to solo anything in kassel nor can they get in that zone...unless they are using an exploit.

I'm not making this up, goto the threads about PvP and kessel as soon as TH made the announcement look at how the "I soloed" jumped up, seriously, look at the post before me that guy is one of em.
He shot himself in the foot as PvP is still there and if PvP is the only challenge then it would have been quite impossible to solo these things that they did. As it stands with so many PvPers telling us how easy Kessel was, changing it to PvE won;t make a difference in difficulty.
actually, it proves that pvp doesn't hinder the pvers. if i could solo something and not take outside pvp fire... than all the people complaining about people waiting to kill people as they flew in were worried for nothing... right? changing it to pve makes these posts more common.

As I responed to you in another post PvEers never said anything about being challenged by PvE or PvP, they just did not want to be forced to accept PvP as a means to getting master.
Pro-PvPers kept saying only PvP makes master challenging, yet pro-PvPers are now saying how they already soloed EVERY bit of content while in a PvP zone, contradicting YOUR statements not ours.
How many times have I said it is not about challenge it is about choice, look me up you can see, and while you do look at all the other PvEers that said it is about being forced to PvP ot about challenge.
Blam! did that hurt, better get that foot checked out.
PvP does not harm you if no one is there, most ppl waited for a time where not much ppl where online and playing in Kessel.

I don't want people to go into kessel to master their profession. i don't want anyone to be forced to pvp. i want my 2 pvp zones and you people who don't want to pvp can have the other 8. that is all. i want at least one zone to feel like star wars. Kessel was that zone, space pirates, rebels, imperials, smugglers it had everything needed for space. now it is on the same level of difficulty as dathomir and dantooine and the pvpers are forced to retreat to deep space.

and as most of us have responded... we AGREE. we wanted the mission out of kessel as much as you did

Actually... when you can SOLO any PVE content... it means that PvE offers no challenge. We never have said that we have never ran into someone while soloing something. Quite the opposite. I see people in kessel more and more. can i still solo a gunboat? of course. will i break off and fight someone if they attack? yes? if i live... i go back to soloing the gunbat.

We have already said to take it out. the only people who said keep it in kessel are either the elusive "griefer" or someone who believes that the master title means something.

And you'll likely get Kessel back as a PvP zone, but the Devs did the easiest thing they could to address the problems they felt warrented this change.

But PvEers didnt complain about being too challenged or not challenged enough, they complained about being forced into a PvP zone to do a skill mission, PvPers made the claim PvP made Kessel challenging, yet that doesn;t seem to be the case as folks solo stuff in a PvP zone.
I repeat PvEers didnt complain about being too challenged or not challenged enough, they complained about being forced into a PvP zone to do a skill mission, PvPers made the claim PvP made Kessel challenging

Fewer people who identified themselves as PvPers said take it out then said keep it in. Most PvPers said it was a challenge and should stay in, Master is rare. Not all said this but most did in fact advocate that the only change should be Damage reduction on PvP, they did not seem concerned that PvEers were forced to PvP.

Thanks for the insult I love you too. Sure take master out of Kessel, it will likely happen, this is a temporary thing as is. I want Kessel to be PvP, but SOE said other wise and I was told to suck it up and accept PvP, now the same can be said for Kessel being PvE. What does it mean to "feel" like Star Wars? Oh yes this is an opinion, I "Feel" JTL is Star Wars even with the upcoming changes, but then again feeling is in the eye of the beholder. PvPers aren't forced to retreat, go Overt and PvP EVERYWHERE. I am passing on to my guild to keep PvPing in Kessel, and when the change occurs declare and keep going to Kessel. Those who want PvP will find each other there as alot fo folks are doing just that, but what I think it is that PvPers are afraid of is that they will truly see how few people like PvP, by the very few who will declare and PvP and go to deep space.
FYI Kessel was always easier for me then Dathomir, I never ran into a single player who attacked me and I made killer XP, but Dathomir was tougher, so from a purely PvE stand point I found Dathomir tougher, so I guess difficulty too is in the eye of the beholder.

hmm, looks like you were talking about me here. Well, since you seem not to have understood my post let me explain it to you, slowly.
I went to DEEP SPACE (not Kessel) and soloed a Rebel corvette there. I did this AFTER I got home from work to discover the heart had been cut out of a game that had true potential finally to become Star WARS (instead of Star HUGS, or whatever it is now). And, by the way, I decided to try out the corvette out of boredom, and only after I had killed the only rebel player I could find out there. I expected to die going in on that vette. Turned out it was no challenge at all. How sad.
The point is that the PvE content in this game--in space or on the ground--is ridiculously easy. Soloing the vette in Deep Space just confirmed it for me. It was no harder than soloing a Rancor lair is on the ground. The JtL expansion offered a way for skilled players to challenge each other with a real goal at stake (defense of your faction's ship from those who would kill it to attain master). As I have stated before: historically, the term "ace" was reserved for those pilots who had shot down five enemy pilots in combat, as confirmed by their peers. The devs had a system where "ace" meant something, and they took the decision to make it meaningless. I had already faced some truly skilled pilots in Kessel, and was hoping that would continue. Win or lose, PvP in Kessel or Deep Space was a heart-pumping challenge. It was FUN. After Tuesday it will be gone. Oh well.
I guess I'll stick around for a few days to see if the devs decide to come to their senses. /shrug.

1 PvPers are too lazy to declare (It isn't hard or that time consuming).
2. There aren't really enough PvPers to be worth while.
3. No one really cared about PvP and it's challenges.
