Thread: Petition: force us to PLAYER KILL for master missions!
Although, I do have to say that the current player kill/NPC kill requirement is right in line to what the difficulty level should be.

Interesting idea however in some cases this is really just annoying and defeats the purpose of having a "real challenge".
Its annoying because not everyone likes to pvp mind you, on the ground nor space. I do love pvp and I would like this idea being implemented but not everyone does.
It destroys the purpose of a real challenge because someone could call up a friend and ask them to let them kill them... Also killing a 1111 pilot isnt much of a challenge either..
The choice is much like jedi. You don't want to PvP? You're simply not "ace" material. 4/4/4/4 is the perfect master level for you.
True "aces" are PvPers, and damned good at it.

If all I have to do is kill 5 players then me and 5 buddies will go up and they'll let me kill them all. Then I'll let them kill me. We can take turns!
Yay I'm an Ace! Wheeeeeeeee!
Perfect reason why the PvE requirement is there as well. The current run of jedi bannings is a perfect example.

You're really missing the point here. Master ISN'T EVEN A CHOICE SOME PEOPLE CAN MAKE. Not with the way the current system is set up. Not everyone plays this like a part time job or has 30 uber-l33t dood friends to bring along.
The causal players now have a gass ceiling. We've be told to step to the back of the buss.
I'm not missing the point at all. I said it in your other thread, I'll say it here too.
I work a full time job, and have a wife and a 3-year-old at home. I certainly don't either. But you know what? If it's too easy to get that ace title, what is it worth? Not much, IMHO.
It should be a reward to display proudly. I don't even display my TKM title. Wow, I soloed a bunch rancors to master. Big freaking whoop.
Ace should be something special. A title to display your talent. You don't have what it takes to be ace? Too bad. I feel for ya, I really do.
But, if ya ain't got it, ya ain't got it.
You said " Master ISN'T EVEN A CHOICE SOME PEOPLE CAN MAKE." That's very true. It's realistic, it's roleplay, it's the way it should be.
The true way to fix this is simple: Give the "master" title to 4/4/4/4 pilots. Give the "Ace" title to those who manage and have the talent to complete the mission.

Will all existing aces also be downgraded in this mannerif they didn't encounter any pvp players when finishing the master missions off? As it's a nice idea but favours existing aces who had none or little pvp opposition in their final missions and to make it fair all existing aces would need to be reset. Which i'm sure won't go down well with some of them.
I'm more than willing to pvp once i reach master to prove myself as a pilot against other players but not pvp during my last pve mission. As with the current imbalance in the power in pvp late starters UK players for one who don't have the gameor people who are taking their time moving up will face more pvp players in Kessel than the early ones faced and find it harder and harder to finish the mission.
I do agree that something extra needs to be done toaugment the Ace level and maybe something like badges for numbers of pvp kills made might be an idea to bring in. So that the Ace has something to aim for with the next badge awarded for so many kills of players in pvp space combat.

i dont pvp, but I pay my 15 dollars a month too.... I'm not ace material because I dont want to pvp? do you honestly think pvp in this game takes any skill whatsoever even in space? its whom ever gets the 1st missle off and a matter of pure blind luck..... I bet you think spamming the f1 key over and over again on the ground game takes skill too dont ya? well wake upcause itit doesnt. its lame... if pvp was implement well then maybee this whole forced pvp would slide... but what it comes down to is who can hit the i win button faster... and its usually the person swooping in on you when your already engaged with a corvette or whatver....
i think true pvp'ers want the master mission out of kessel for the most part....
but its the sad griefers that get there jollys ganking someone.. that are afraid that if the master mission is takin out of kessel that they might actually have to go up against others that are there for the sake of pvp... and that just wouldnt be fun for griefer because they dont want a challenge all they want is to make someones experiance a living hell , laugh about how uber l33t roxor they are and go get off to it...
and also you should remember that alot of people that play the typical mmorpg maybee have never picked up a space/flight sim...and may not be "as good" or "As experianced" as you and I. the simple fact of thematter is, pilot isnt something you unlocked, it isnt jedi, not even comparable in anyway to the amount of time/effort jedi takes... I and many others paid for this expansion and pay our monthly fees just the same as the pvp'er and deserve to obtain the MASTER PILOT BOX equally..
I still have yet to see a rational argument as to why to keep this mission in kessel... I really think its the tef rider mentality going on here like I said before... that if the mission gets takin out of kessel the griefers (not the true pvpers) might have to fight other people that wanna fight them too...
