Not that it will help something as this thread will get into a pro and contra fight as all the others.
And the devs seem not even to care.

I hope that somewhen in the nearfuture, a dev will say what the reason for forced PvP is...

Nobody forces you to become a Master Pilot. I think the ultimate test for a Master Pilot should also be the competition between players and not the dumb AI,soleave the missionit in Kessel.

There arent enough challanges in this game. The "forced" pvp in Kessel to complete Master Pilot is good. If you want something worthwhile it should be hard to get. Its hardly forced pvp either as you havent been forced to buy JTL or even become a pilot (yes I realise how daft that argument is, nevertheless its true).
Maybe they should create "Carebear" servers and "1337 R0xX0rz" servers then have the normal ones where there is a good mix of the two styles i.e as it currently is.
Personelly id like to see early years of UO style free for all PvP on land and in space but then I like a challange in a game.
Besides get ina decent guild and take a squad up and youll find its not so hard although I guess thats server dependant too.

And here the pro- and contra- fight starts.
And as usual with the same old reasons that are discussed in 100 other threads already.

Okay I make it easy for you pvp guys:
Just quote my post and tick your reason for keeping it in
"suck it up"
"Build a group"
"PvP is fun cause I like it"
"Master must be awarded by PvP"
"Carebears are ruining our game"
"if you don't like it, cancel your account"
any more "reasons"???

Funny, I see the ones in yellow used by Jedi WAY too often.

BTW, I'm for keeping the missions in Kessel, just as long as they impliment a PvP damagereduction.
So, I guess my answer will have to be the one in red.

Neutrals got a right to master EVERY profession they want WITHOUT a single pvp action .
At least for freelancers the last mission should be moved .
If u want pvp join a faction if not stay neutral .... its simple .

I thinkkeeping the mission in Kessel also encourages the community building between pilots. You need buddies and wingmen to complete this and the vette, and more interaction between players is good for the game. Also the griefers-gankers can be branded as well know pirates and murderersand can in turn be banned from shops, cities etc....
JTL is a twitch based game and if you shun the test against another player then you dont deserve Master Pilot in the same way that those jedi who held "fight clubs" dont deserve to become Jedi Masters.

I'm all for PvP, I PvP'd some today and am about to leave for Kessel sans mission for some fun.
But I played the early years of UO more than most who will read this and I remember that you could "master" any skill in the "relative" (had to keep magic reflect up) safety of your house before entering any kind of PvP. Also, if Mastering a skill requiring PvP "where your char has to defeat a player(s) of higher level to gain a level" is such a great idea lets apply it to EVERY skill in this game not just pilot, how about Jedi, BH, Fencer, CH (that would be funny battle bunnies), Dancers could mud wrestle, Artisans could throw tools at each other!
I am a solo player mostly and have gone to Kessel several nights over the past week and made it to as low as 10 Ties to go and below 15 several times. As a neutral pilot I am shot at by EVERYTHING (Rebs, Neuts, Imps, PCs, NPCs)in the sector HELLO. I should get freaking Double Master by the time I finish. Some people I've met in Kessel didn't know that neutrals don't/can't declare imp or reb when they enter.
I would also like to say I have spent up to an hour flying around Kessel without a single Tie in sight outside of a huge Tie Cloud of Death (whats up with that)
Also, as a Hutt pilot should I not be allowed to choose which side I want to assist in Kessel? If I could have done Reb ships I would have made it by now.

I wrote this in another thread it my feelings on these griefers that want to keep the mission in kessel
The master mission needs to be moved.
You GRIEFERS (and yes your griefers), who have made master pilot go to kessel just to gank a 4-4-4-4 so you pat yourself on the back and say how great you are.
If all you "master pilots" can not tell the difference between another master and a 4-4-4-4 trying to a mission then your true morons.
The only reason you go to kessel is to grief 4-4-4-4 pilots to make a difficult mission almost impossible.
You want to keep kessel pvp and the master mission in it so you can GRIEF others.
If all you griefers truely want to pvp then move to the wildzone and fight another master but then you might lose and your ego could not tkae that could it.
YOUR IN KESSEL BECAUSE YOU WANT TO GRIEF IF YOU DID NOT WANT TO GREIF YOU'D BE IN THE WILDZONE.
YOU CAN NOT JUSTIFY YOUR ACTION YOU HAVE ANOTHER ZONE TO PVP IN, 4-4-4-4 PILOTS DO NOT GET A CHOICE AND YOUR CHOICE IS TO GRIEF THEM.
Do not try to BS (note does not mean black sun) me or any of the rest of us who truly know you for what you are.
