Thread: Alright, I've had enough..
A friend of mine loot hunting in Kessel just came across (and killed, thankfully) an player A-Wing mingling amidst NPC A-Wings trying to pick off Master Mission people or loot hunters like himself. Of course, I'm sure the person was merely "roleplaying" and wouldn't pick off someone on their first half of their master mission so callously like that. I'm sure he was just hiding in that flock of A-Wings, yeah. /sarcasm
"Honorable" PvP indeed.

I'm a pure PvEer on the ground or in space because PvP in this game is completely broken. I'd rather smash some Elders and Protectors than "pwn" someone.
I have always wondered.. what does 'pwm' mean..
where all factionned players are overt permanently, in ground and in space.
pvErs->happy
pvpers->happy

I enjoy PvP. I was allfor keeping PvP in Kessel (with some modifications that would of been beneficial to both sides, of course)
I am NOT a griefer, I DO NOT condone grifeing, nor will I ever grief. And I was a freaking Bounty Hunter!
Along the same lines, I do not think all you pure PvE'rs are carebears, nor would I use that to base any kind of argument on or use in a petty insult or flame.
Time for a reality check people.
5 stars to you for a good post as i am looking forward to pvp in jtl but not during the final pve mission, once i reached master then i was looking to pvp. I willhappily take part in any pvp guild events, server events in the future once the current damage issue is sorted. As at present its instagib in space with one shot=kill. I don't pvp on the gorund as i hate it but twitch based pvp in jtl suits my gaming background as im still playing UT instagib to division 2 standards. So this is fun to play twitch based and not be reliant on buffsas you are in the ground game.
As a lot of us who have issues with the old system and the mission being where it was were also saying this in the beta as we could see the problems with the possibility of people camping the hyperspace points into kessel, which unfortunately in a small minority of pvpers is happening. Also due to the issues with the release date in the UK and other European countries late starters would be at a disadvantage as by time they reached the final missions the number of pvpers there would be high. Whereas the early masters faced litle or no pvp opposition.
During these other posts i refrained from the name calling etc as it doesnt help build any ties between the two groups. I suggested as others did reduce the damage and once you reach ace have badges for number of kills so you have something to aim for after the ace title.
Items to address to fix pvp and make it worthwhile
- Reduce the damage in pvp combat
- Add badges for Ace pilots to aim for based on number of kills
- Have badges for arranged pvp battles i.e. Rebels attack a convoy and the imperial escort has to fight overwhelming numbers and if they suceed in the defence they get a badge. Same with rebels if they destroy the convoy they get a badge.
- Pure pvp missions on the terminals where to get paid you have to kill so many enemy pvp players in a certain time

Well I for one am mainly PVE but enjoy periodic PVP
I dont stereotype PVP'ers. There are griefers on both PvE and PvP. People that PvP as their main play style have no monopoly on that.
Unfortunately what you see is frustration because of a game imbalance. When there is an imbalance there wil always be that subset of peopple that will take advantage of it.
In posts when I have referred to these people in JTL that are roaming kessel for the sole purpose of ganking people on their missions I call them "little kiddy gank squads". THat is because they are not true PVP'ers at all, they are taking advantage fo the fact they can gank someone with little or no cost while they are engaged. They are being immature so the can send you a tell "pwned joo" when they one shot killed you while you were engaged with a few tier 5 NPC's.
I got ganked in kessel, next time I was doing my mission the same person ws there waiting. Well me and my friend one shot killed him and his friend the whines and threats began from him lol. He decided the response should be a series of tells in caps and every four letter word you can think of.
These people are not PVP'ers, they are immature griefers.
However unfortunate groups do get stereotyped based on actions in the group. there is ont much that can be done about that except correct the imbalance in the current PVP model and take the ganking away from the immature pvp player to where they are forced to play more honorably
