Thread: Stop with the bashing each other and DEVs on the Kessel issue

Jeez you guys wont ever be satisfied will you?
They havent said if this will be permenant or temporary yet. But your all so quick to jump the gun and automatically start the flamethrowers and click the cancel account buttons.
How are they supposed to do it huh? They need to redo the master mission. This is one thing for sure. Even a large chunk of the PVPers can and have agreed on this. Now its easier to change the line of code calling Kessel a PVP zone and recode the mission later then it is to just let it sit while they code it or move it prematurely.
First they have to find a zone to put it in. Second they have to check the zone locations. Wouldnt want the corvette spawning in the middle of a space station would we? It will have to be completely rewritten so its still hard but from a PVE point of view. Then they have to seed it in. Since this new mission will affect all the spawns and loads in the zone they have to make sure those arefine. Loot tables will need to be rebuilt. And finally a couple weeks of testing to make sure it doesnt crash, spawn funky, or otherwise make it impossible to be a master.
This is a danged if they do and danged if they dont situation. They had to do it this way knowing full well people would get upset no matter what they did.
Would you rather they moved the mission prematurely and had some weird bug happen that prevented anyone from going master for a month? I am sure you would all have been patient and not flamed them once right?
How about just leaving it as it is while they recoded and had a whole lot more people quitting like mad because of it? I am sure none of you would have been mad if Lucasarts saw it and shut down SWG thinking it was a lost cause right?
All of you really need to chill out now. This is stupid. Live with it for a bit and see what happens. None of you even know how this will affect things. Because, last I checked, none of you can see the future. Some of the things they do, while looking on the outside completely nuts, has actually been needed or required.
The only real knee jerk reaction here is you people getting all bent out of shape.
Since the beginning the DEVs have broken alot of promises. For once they are trying to save one of the promises they made. I for one am willing to sacrifice kessel to PVE for a month or two to let them do this. Everyday the DEVs are gaining back my respect more and more.

problem is YOU don't know if they will ever change it back. all they had to do is say "Wow, people are getting griefed to hell and back but we don't have time to change the spawn points right now, we are going to flip it to pve, work on changing the spawn points and moving the mission and flip it back as soon as possible."
Did they say that?
No. So either break out the flamethrowers for piss poor communication on the part of Thunderheart, or break out the flamethrowers for taking away one of the two desperately needed PVP (read: endgame) arenas.

No maybe they did it while they decide if they can even fix the mission. But why should any of us think that far ahead huh? Better for the knee jerk reaction right?
No one has even asked if its temporary that I have seen in the posts. All that most of you did was "Oh your going to change it? Fine I quit! or I hope you all burn! or Your all morons!" blah blah blah
Ever think that is why they didnt tell you anything? Because they knew no matter what they said you would all flame them anyway?

He knows full well he can waylay some of the outrage over this by saying it's temporary. He probably doesn't even know if it is or not. But I'll ask, we'll test your theory. Sure.
