Thread: Master Pilot Many Bothans have died ...

Okay, my subject got you to read this anyhow,

I am a early master rebel pilot, even had my wife cheering behind me when my group of 15 (all random players who were casually invited btw) blasted the corvette's bridge until the entire ship turned into a fireball.
I rushed back to Corellia to grab my reward and master box!
We all know that the rebel alliance 'ace' jacket is bugged, fine, the Dev will sort that out...
That's when I get the beautiful Rebellion Ace helmet and almost tear up. Ever since I was a kid I wanted a rebel pilot helmet like Luke wore. My main character is a Bothan named Ludo'tah - Bria's Bothan Brawler as he's known. Second in command of the Mos Entha Meat Squad (MEMS) guild. My wife yells at me, 'Put it on!'. This is a great night for a geek like me.
System Message: Can't Equip
After 2 CSR tickets I finally realize that Bothans are not allowed to equip the helmet 'by design'.
I remember making my character a year ago, how I wanted to make my avatar looking something like me, but was encouraged by my friends and gaming m8's to be something different and RP a bit.
I understand that some items can't be equipped because of the 'deforming' of the model that may occur, but for something as special as a Master Alliance Ace Pilot award, shouldn't there be variations of the helmet to allow all species to show off their helmet?
As for the Imperials, you are penalized from day 1 for being a non human, so I can somehow rationalize why their helmet wouldn't be equippped by non humanoids Imperial Master Pilots.
But the Rebellion? Bothans? Rodians can equip it. Bothans can equip a composite helmet. I really thought the helmet should have appeared more like a Chitin helmet with a transparent visor allowing almost everyone to wear it.
I say get rid of the stupid face mask or have 2 variations of the helmet perhaps. Use the Chitin helmet for inspiration I say!
Okay so not everybody can wear composite, but the dev wisely created specialized alternatives, Wookie Armor for example. I hope they do the same for the Master Pilot Helmet - at least for the Alliance.
Oh, btw, nobody plays Ithorians thinking they can equip a tusken helmet you bloody flamers. I'm working on a photoshop image of the helmet sans the face mask worn by a wookie - I'll post it here.

Rodians can equip the master helmet? I've been curious about that...
The rebel jacket is in tomorrow's patch an upcoming patch which is on testcenter now and i hope it comes out tomorrow.
But yeah, it's a bummer. They're adding the traditional rebel helmet that luke had later, and guess what... that's human and zabrack only.

I know all species can wear the privateer helmet(except wook, and Ith). So im pretty sure that they will allow the same races to wear the reb helmet(who knows maybe they can on TC). I play a trando, and i know i would be pissed too if i couldnt wear my reward, so all we can do is try to gets the devs to see the problem with racism(imps dont count ) and the master helmets.

Oh well- sucks to be bothan, rodian, wookie, mon calimarian, twe'lek, tranoshian, ithorian, or sullustian...
On a second note- Zabraks should have some sort of species bonus that allows them to ram into an enemy using their head spikes....

I would just like to see alternatives or variations of high end rewards that everyone can enjoy. If Bothans can wear composite helmet and chitin helmet, then why can't they wear the master ace helmet?
As for Ithorians, they obviously can't wear composite, but guess what? They have their own version of composite to wear. Just like the poor neglected wookies finally getting their own high end armor.
It would be nice to see the rare species of players be able to wear variations of current wares or alternatives.

I'm with you, Lu! Some day my Ithorian will get the master box and be completely unable to wear either item. Why there aren't alternates available is beyond me. But when I saw you and your helmet and jacket you couldn't wear it brought a tear to my Trandoshan eye. Be strong, little buddy!
Oh, and this was all brought up in beta. For SHAME, Devs! For shame!

I agree. I play a Twi'lek, and I've been a loyal member of the Rebel Alliance ever since launch. I think I deserve to be able to wear something as simple as a helmet.
The Rebellion is not racist, they need everyone they can get. I can understand Imperial ace helmets only fitting humans and Zabraks (Imperials really only seem to like male humans), but for the Rebels, it makes no sense at all. It's just laziness on the Dev's part.

something definetly needs to be done about helmets for ALL species
it is definetly unfair that only humans are allowed to wear such a priced piece, something that takes alot to achieve.
I'm a rodian, and i'm pretty damn p!ssed that i will not be able to wear the *kick ass* imperial ace helmet. i get a jacket. a bloody freaken jacket! woopdy-doo. i won't even be able to display my ace helmet in my weapon shop, so what the hell good is it?!?
i sincerely hope that the DEV's come up with a solution.
we might need a very biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig petition

Don't get me wrong, I have a Twi'lek Imperial pilot that cannot wear Imperial TIE helmet. But to be serious, with all alien discrimination of empire, This is not supposed to be either. All Empire army is human, not even Zabrak. In game however they have penalties as well...
But exactly same for Rebels, Rebels welcomes all aliens due to story and should be allowed for all aliens. So I also say if this game allows aliens to be imperial, THEN they should find a solution to wear them.
