Thread: Tier 3, I believe mission 2

Yesterday and today I have tried to do this mission. I am told by the my contact on Yavin IV to go to Endor, find a smuggler ship that has the data for the Endor System and "steal" it. Ok, I go to Endor. The first day I was 2,2,2,2 in pilot. I go to Endor and am overwhelmed by Tier 4 and 5 fightes. It is obvious within a short time I can't complete this mission with both shields finally gone and starting to lose armor front and back and not even taking them down fast enough. So I do the Han Solo thing and try to keep them off my back until I can hyperspace out of the area, which of course immediately fails the mission.
So I get trained, so I am now 2,3,2,2. I can now load my longprobe with level 6 and 7 equipment. So bright and early I go back to Endor looking for this smuggler ship that has the data that I need to steal. 2 hours later, for sure over a hundred enemy ships destoryed (they just never stopped coming for very long), no success. I have managed to scuttle five smuggler ships but only manage to dock, inspect and try and figure out if or how to get the data the guy back on Yavin IV wants. Every time I scuttle one of their ships huge waves of from tier 3-5 of smuggler ships and later (with my finally two ships I tried to get the data from) wave after wave of tier 4 and 5 Imperial fighters come at me. By the time I finally shot all them down there isn't any smuggler vessels to be found any more. Then finally I get attacked by five tier 5 Imperial fighters in three different waves. It takes forever to try and take one out because they go into that dumb circle pattern and if you don't lead them exactly right, and exactly in the middle of the line you draw from ship to leading target X you don't hit the silly things. Finally once again I am starting to get overwhelmed because it is taking forever to kill the silly guys. Shields dying armor getting hit I once again do the Han Solo retreat and again fail the mission.
This is so frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
What in the heck am I doing wrong! please help! I am to frustrated and tired to go back to that mission until I find out what I need to do or what I am doing wrong.

I understand your frustrations completely. It took me 4 hrs to do this mission which imo is ridiculous. Very reminiscent to the combat quest in phase 3. Call me lucky, but when I did this mission, i was 3222. I used am X-wing vise my longprobe. It was quicker on yaw and turn and it made it easier to kill of the mobs with the extra guns. When I finally disabled a spice smuggler and inspected, i got a message that said "this is the ship you are looking for." I docked got the info and hypered out of there. I would try to take some m8's with you that can keep the mobs of you so you can concentrate on the smuggler ships. This might make it a bit easier. I stayed at WP btw. I didnt go to each one becuase the spawn was crazy at the one I was at. Good luck!!!

Ok, so I am basically doing the right thing. I guess I will keep trying until I finally get. I just thought I had to be doing something wrong after 2 hours. Thanks.

Nex time when you do the Han solo thing, jump to a safearea within the same system, preferably somewhere close to the space stationso you can repair your ship if needed. As long as you don't leave the system youwon't fail the mission.

Are you in Crimson Phoenix Squadron? (Started in Mos Espa?)
Because I know those spawns are removed from 'Vortex' squadron but forgot Crimson Phoenix.
