I am a Freelance Pilot 2/2/2/2 and working with Beissa. The first mission is incredibly difficult! I have repeatedly failed...as soon as the freighter leaves the area, and the Valarian fighters turn their guns on me I'm finished! I have 200000 xp and am ready to train so that I can use better equipment, but I can't get trained. Do I have to finish the mission first?
Also, could I switch to another pilot trainer like CorSec or NSF? I just want to be trained so I can use tier 3 components!

Yes you need to complete the quest to get training, and also, the training at Tier 3 requires no xp.
Get a friend to deal with the fighters as you disable the freighter.

If Your on Shadowfire I'll Help You, I can tell You I did do this one On my own, But it wasn't easy By any means took lots and Lots of Turning and churning. But the good News is You get trained after every Mission you do for good ole Jabba.

All I can say is get wingmates. It makes things much, much easier.

It is possible to solo this one, but I think the solo ends here. The next one is even harder.
I almost want to switch to Imp just for that sound of that engine. Woa now, talk about nastalgia.,.

The Next One can be done alone aswell, You gotta disable and dock with a Witchblade, then go to another waypoint, dock in disable a certain witchblade and dock, Then go to a third waypoint which is stay alive, survival. The npc fighter seems to group together, Kill the 2 that stay together and then get the third that runs alone, You gotta do this a few times. But it would be easier with a wingman.

What I hate about this "mission" is that it tells you Misson Successful, it shows in blue in your chat log, it shows completed in your Quest journal, etc, etc, then you get a Continuation mission immediately, and if you finish that one it also says Successful and goes in the journal, and you get another one, and another one, and so on, seemingly a never ending stream of "missions" with more waves. Then when you finally eject, you go back to Beissa, and she gives you the first one (which is already logged as Successful in your quest journal) all over again. That's just wrong.

I did that alone too! It is possible.
But at the next I hang, because of an interferring TIER 5 SPAWN!
That is not acceptable!!!!

You know, the truth of the matter is that if they "gate" me with a bugged mission or something that seems perversely designed to require guilds, hired help, etc, my feeling becomes - So Be It.
There is no huge point to grinding up Pilot anyway when you get right down to it. As a player who bought JtL and has been in the game more than 180 days, I already have everything I want: a perfectly nice Dunelizard or Kimoglia that I can go out and dogfight in any time I want, an invulnerable multiplayer "mobile home," and room for one more if I feel like it. The mightiest Master Pilot in the game doesn't travel between worlds any faster than I do, or get to store or transport any more stuff. They can defeat more powerful ships, but that has no bearing on the rest of the game, it's a self contained sandbox.
I am a solo player by nature and preference. I am good at what I do, but I'm not a miracle worker. If there is a limit to how much of a Pilot I can be, then that's their loss, not mine.
