If this is a repeat of someone else's ideas, I apologize in advance.
Currenlty, the quest for the Master Pilot Box is set in Kessel. This has lead to players being forced into PvP that don't want to be. It has also caused abuse by some, not all, players that grief others by destroying them as they hypserspace into that zone. As more players make Master, it makes it more difficult for newer players to get master because they are destroyed by the existing master player base before they can get a shot at their mission.
So, the Devs have turned Kessel into a PvE environment. This delights the PvE community, discourages the PvP community, and has lead to a lot of flames. PvE players are happy that they have a shot at finishing the Master Box without being forced to PvP or submit themselves to potential abuse from a portion of the PvP community. PvP players are mad because something was taken away from their community and nothing was given back in return. Some have expressed concern that players can now pick their way through Kessel, harvesting the best loot from NPC's without concern of attack from other players. To counter this, the PvE community points out that those that don't want to PvP, shouldn't be denied good loot.
There are a lot of valid points on both sides of the discussion.
Here is what I propose:
1. Keep Kessel as PvE as planned. Right now, that is scheduled for Tuesday next week.
2. Turn the other PvP zone into a PvP zone that does not require Master to enter.
Benefits of this solution:
1. PvE players can complete their master box without interference from other players.
2. PvP players now have a zone that anyone can PvP in without limitation, having to declare in advance, or having to achieve master.
Downside of this solution:
1. I don't know if there is something else in wild space that would make this a problem for lower level players.
2. I don't know if there are objectives in wild space that will cause the same problems as Kessel.
In the long run, the Devs might find a way to take the Master Missions out of Kessel, or create a new unlimited PvP zone for PvP'ers. However, I think this would be fair short term solution.
Thanks for reading and your comments.

Heh there's no fingerpointing (PvP vs PvE showdown, as usual) in this thread, which tends to be where the high post-counts are.
I do agree though, if Kessel is no longer a PvP zone then Wild Space should allow lower-level players. This way neutrals can PvP before master; not to mention we'd see more people in Wild Space, and more targets is generally more fun.
I don't see any reason otherwise except for the fact that the low-level players will have troubles staying alive due to the higher level pilots in the area. But hey, hard PvP is better than none in my opinion; might get some good bragging rights out of it in the end.

umm wild space still costs 30k prestigue points to enter, which you can only acquire when you are a master.

That is why I said make it so it doesn't require master. Make it available to everyone.

I think this is a great idea. You could also give good xp rewards to lower level players for PvP kills and encourage them to head to that zone. Of course it would be more difficult for lower level players, but if they want to risk it and head out there for the glory, that is their choice.

my think is, it's not that we absolutly need a all tier PvP zone.
But we need a reason to PvP.
Doing a factionned mission where other PLAYERS tried to defend and defeat you and then gaining the title
"Ace" (with the skill to use lvl10 stuff and to pilot special ship) WAS a good reason to fight each other.
SoE wants to remove that, they have to give us an equal reason to fight each others.
A reason which makes the winner stronger and the loser weaker.
Kessel was perfectly designed: it was a battlefield where imperials and rebels fought to prevent their ennemies to become "Ace", and where they tried to become "Ace" themself.
Well now space is like ground where people assault a static city, own it for some minutes then move on.
Where we put effort to build, defend and assault bases which gives no bonus to the faction who own it.
We can live with an unbalanced combat system, how long will we like a game with no contents?
By the way we need a server where all factionned player and stuff is overt in ground and in space.
You like it, log into it ->happy
You don't like it, don't log into it and have your PvE server ->happy

Not to burst your bubble but have you ever been to deep space? Low level ships wouldn't last 1 second in there. Opening up that sector to anyone would just open up a whole new slew of complaints on the forums about deep space being to hard and a call for the NPC ships to be nerfed into oblivion.

i say for everyone to just take a deep breath and slow down. I highly doubt that kessel will stay PvE permanently. It's just a temporary fix to make it so all the 4/4/4/4 people can accomplish thier mission without player interference (notice how i didn't say make it easier)
I just say wait it out for now and see what happens.

Like I said, I haven't been there. One of the biggest complaints from PvP'ers is that they lost their PvP zone, so I was trying to come up with a solution that would let PvE'ers get their Master Title and allow PvP'ers to have their dedicated PvP zone that allowed everyone to participate.

Thats a fair point. However, I disagree that the motivation behind making the GCW mean something should stand in the way of any player mastering any profession. All that does is add a sense of elitism to those that prefer to PvP. Personally, I think JTL adds a considerable element to the GCW--it actually feels like a GCW. When I run missions, I feel like I am participating in a greater story and effecting the war. However, there does need to be something to encourage participation--I'm just not convinced that making players PvP to get their Master badge is the answer, especially when it is so easy for other players to grief that player. But, you are right, there is a need for a reason to PvP.

Well, like I said, this can be a temporary fix as well. If they can make Kessel a temporary PvE zone, why couldn't they throw the PvP'ers a bone and open up wild space until they come up with a better solution to Kessel and the Master Badge.
