Ok, I haven't been here that long, and I've already seen the same basic question asked 3 times (why can't RSF shoot Imperials). I've also seen other posts where people have had to radically adjust their faction and/or drop their piloting skills entirely and start over. With that in mind I think we need to post a big list of need-to-know information for people who choose their piloting profession. Here's what I know so far:
Privateer: If you sign up with the RSF on Naboo, you will be unable to attack Imperial ships in space.
Privateer: If you join the Smuggler's Alliance on Tatooine, you will have to gain entrance to Jabba's theme park about half way in (I think tier 3; someone please clarify.) If you have negative Jabba faction then you've got a lot of work to do.
Imperial: If you join the Imperial Inquisition on Naboo, you will have to go to the Emperor's Retreat. There are conflicting reports as to whether there is special access granted for pilots or not.
Rebel: One of the trainers is in Nym's stronghold on Lok. If Nym doesn't like you, you'll have to fight your way in and out for each mission. (Again, need more clarification here; which starting trainer leads you here?)
That's what little I know. What else do people need to know when choosing a pilot profession?

Well im one of the nubs who has ended up in the wrong faction :-( Started of as RSF on naboo and now I want to switch to Smuggler aliance. I have spoken to the chap in eisley and he is willing to give me missions, so am I smuggler alliance now? How do i tell what faction i am? (trying not to have to drop my skills here, /clutches at straws)
