But there should be a very small Damage reduction. A fight in space should be short, but not too short. And the big decayalso destroys the best looted parts, noone will use them in PvP i think.

Btw, /escapepod yes for "eject"

#1. PvP is too fast as it is now. 1-2 shots may seem like a lot in a good dogfight, but rarely do good dogfights ever occur. It's generaly one guy catches the other off guard, and death ensues very quickly. Also, 2 shots is nothing. Advanced TIEs get two weapons, and X-wings get three. They all shoot at the same time. That's a single click of the trigger and boom, you've killed someone. It's not very exciting, nor is it very fair.

#2. PvP deaths bring decay to your ship. I wouldn't mind death at all in PvP if my ship didn't lose so much every time I got blasted to bits. In PvP you don't have the chance to eject. Full shields and armor are ripped to nothingness and beyond that with several shots, and there's no /eject macro that I'm aware of.

#3. It completely eliminates almost every style of play and ship in the game, other than a select few. Some people wanted to play bomber in this game, and be a Y-wing or a TIE bomber, and they would have heavy armor and shields and good weapons, but be slow as hell. They can't play that way because their heavy armor and shields do not do them any good. Maybe 1 extra shot if they're lucky, but it's the A-Wings that will dominate the sky with their maneurverability and speed (plus their high mass and dual weapons, bah). Many in my guild are considering to remove armor and shields from their ships completely because they're useless in PvP. That's not balanced.

#4. It's hard enough to do the master missions without people like myself running around, bloodthirsty for PvP, killing anything red that crosses my path. You're focused on blowing the vette up, and here I come along and bam you're dead already. The vette either blows and you don't get credit, or I stay and protect it and no one gets master for the time me, or anyone like me, is there.

#5. Making shields stronger or weapons weaker on player ships would unbalance the PvE game. Stronger shields would make us invulnerable and weaker weapons would make us pathetic. The easiest solution for the time being is to just put in a simple damage reduction, somewhere between 75%-90%. No, battles won't last 30 minutes long like they do on the ground. The only reason that occurs is because of buffs and composite armor, which neither of them exist in space. As of now, the space game is equivalent to the ground game when commandos could one shot kill anyone with their flamethrowers.

Note: I'm not whining. I can hold my own in PvP as it stands now, but that doesn't mean I think it's very entertaining. A damage reduction in my opinion would make fights last slightly longer, to where an actual test of skill can occur.

So long as 30 second to 1 minute timer for invulnerability is instituted in Kessel and Deep Space upon hyperspacing to the sectors, I have no problem with the PvP damage. You can use that time to maneuver behind any spawn camping dweebs and blow them to space dust.

The real problem is PVE. Have you guys counted the number of shots it takes to kill a Tier 7 light fighter? Why the heck does a Scyk have over 15000 (yeah, fifteen thousand) points of armor and shields on ONE side? It's a good thing that their weapons aren't scaled up to similar levels or else they'd truly be one-shot-one-kill fighters.

From what I remember, the reason there was a damage reduction in the ground game was because some professions were too unbalanced.

Not so here. It takes skill. Damage reduction would only delay the inevitable. If your dying too much then you should practice more. Anyone can learn to play an FPS. Just need to practice. Damage reduction wouldnt help you. If his damage is reduced then so is yours. Simple as that.

Plus, I'm a Rebel. I can dump shield power for no good reason, but I can't enhance weapon strength.

Don't bring continuity to the game. There would only be like, 20 X-wings and 20 million TIE Fighters, and everyone would perma-die. This is a MMORPG, not Rogue Squadron. Those ships you're blowing up in 1-2 shots are real people, and no, skill isn't very useful when from 600 m away you can be insta killed, despite how good you are. Soon enough there will only be A-Wings and Advanced TIES, because they will be the only ones that can survive PvP. What's the point of all the other ships?

Space PvP Now: Visceral, fast, bloody, like it should be.

Space PvP With A Damage Reduction: Tedious, drawn out, boring.

If you're facingoff against a really good pilot, the end result will be the same, you will still die, its just going to take 5 minutes of flying in circles for it to happen. It will also make it impossible for small groups of fighters with the element of surprise to take on bigger groups, it would be suicide. If theres a large damage reduction, all that will happen is people will fly nothing but TIE Bombers, B-Wings and multiplayer ships. Right now its perfect: you cant expect to PvP alone and win unless you are an amazing pilot, you need a balanced group to win out. Bombers and multiplayer ships need fighter escorts, and fighters have a hard time taking on larger targets without bomber and multiplayer ship support.

Or a tie fighter thats almost impossible to see with a black space background? I want my xwing painted black and I wouldn't have a problem with this at all...

You are exactly correct. There needs to be a damage reduction and a removal of decay in PVP.
