Ok here's the situation I'm in and I've not figured out how to do this yet. I'm running missions out of Bestine (Capital Building Officer) for Jump to Lightspeed and am working on my 2nd Tier (Currently a 1111) and flying a tradtional TIE with Level 3 Components. The mission I am sent to is a Hostage mission that takes me to Lok. I'm to hunt down Nym's Lt 's ships inspect them and then dock/board the ship to get the hostage info to complete the leg of the mission.
I go to Lok and try the obvious inspect and attempt to dock and dock is refused which I figure I need to disable them. Upon accidently blowing a few sky high I finally adapt my technique's to blowing away the engine's so they have no thrust. Upon disableing there engines I attempt to board and still am refused permission to dock/board (using shortcut U). Is there a trick to doing this or am I doing this completely wrong?
Thanks in advance guys.

Do you have to /inspect them first? I'm Black Epsilon, so this isn't one of my missions - but I'm just tossing out ideas.

Yes prior to attempting docking I have to inspect them to get confirmation that the hostage plans are on board. I just can't figure a way to retrive them and wondered if there was a specific tactic involved in doing this successfuly.

You disable the reactor on the nyms Leuitenant shipsthen once they are disabled fly up close and do /inspect and once it confirms they have what you are looking for onboard you do /dock to finish this mission off.

Thanks Screem. Now to adjust my tactics to hit the reactor. This should be fun.

Taking out the reactor is the same as taking out the engines - it's just another press of the bracket key :/
