k two days I got my decimator, here are the reasons why one couldn't fly it solo
1st - flying a MP ship with a whole crew is the BEST FUN EVER in SWG, I had hard times to get a crew up, and most of the people were like "hmmm yea, why not but I already know I won't enjoy it..." and at the end they all agreed that it's one of the funniest things in SWG at that point, even one who didn't want to fire turrets at all, just came cause I almost begged for her to came, she was like "wow that IS fun !" and spent hours up there with us.
2nd - ok let's imagine, the devs accept to let people fly it alone, putting all the turrets to the front, and controlled by pilot.
those things handle THAT BAD, you'd be owned by ANYONE up there in 3 seconds chrono. as a pilot, my task was to fly slowly so my gunners could actually aim at target, and get the ship out if things turned nasty. no way one could pilot it as a fighter, efficiently, like NO WAY.
3rd - piloting being hard, cause it's not as simple as it stands, and as it looks in my 2nd point, the copilot is in charge of the droid commands and special abilities, both gunners fire, and you still need a technician on board, to repair things when they brake.
for the record, that thing takes almost 1km to stop from full throttle, imagine it in a dogfight, one won't last for more than a minute.

Thanks for that info. I have yet to hop aboard a multiplayer combat ship. I wonder if people can board one and do their master missions. I would pay good money (cedits
) to get that kind of anti-gank escort. And I can imagine what a tech 10 blaster does to tier 5 Ties.

well as you and I play on the same server (eclipse)
just send me a tell for your master mission, if I can get a whole crew in time, I'll come and help, and of course you can be a part of the crew, it might work for your master mission.
just for info
a whole crew for a master mission type would be
pilot (me)
copilot (has to be imp)
two gunners (imps)
a technician with repair kits (VERY IMPORTANT), 2 would be very cool
a doc with fire blankets (u can catch on fire on those ships) and woundpacks.

This is a good idea and we have a master pilot in my guild with a VT but with the way PVP works currently it only takes 2 hits to kill a ship. If this applies to the VT also it would just be a sitting duck.

MP ships have the mass, again I submit:
WHY THE HELL DON'T THEY HAVE ROOM FOR TWIN HULLS AND TWO SHIELD GENS?

I still think MPS's should have forward firing turrets. Yes it wont be as effective and it shouldnt be. MPSs should only be fully effective unless fully manned. But I still think we should have this option. I would never think of PVPing alone but rather just to go after med tier NPC ships.
