Thread: Lvl 10 loot from Tier I kills?

Is it true that the loot drop is completely random, and that I have the same chance of getting a lvl 10 loot drop from killing a tier I ship that I do from killing a tier 5?
If this is the case, I've got to cry foul. Do I need to split up my hunting for exp/loot as it obviously a lot quicker taking out tier 1 ships for loot than taking out tier 5 ships?

um...not from my experience. Each ship seems to drop loot of whatever kind of Tier the ship itself is...

i personally have gotten a level 5 shield plate and a level 9 ion weapon from tier 2 ships

I got a wonderful lvl 6 weapon that was a RE of lvl 1........with mass of lvl 6 and dmg out put of a lvl 1 gun 
does that count ?

I think it's kinda in between. It's possible to loot any lvl piece from any lvl ship. But the LARGE majority of what you loot will be from the same tier (or close to it).

I sure hope so RPMayhem or else the current system makes no sense at all.

Well I have no offical word on that, but after playing in beta on in live, this is the definate pattern I see.

I'm asking this same kind of question on the pilot forum. It'd be nice if anyone with a Blue or Red name would let us know how/if the loot system is working properly.

I just got a lv 7 armor plate from a tier 1 ship on my second noob mission yesterday (I dropped smugglers aliance and started over as corsec because I don't have access to Jabba's, and I simply don't have the will to drop masteries to train combat skills to do Jabba's missions.)
