I've Mastered 2 pilot professions on the same character (has anyone else done this?). The first was Master Freelance Pilot, I surrendered it because their shipssuck. I then Mastered Alliance Pilot.
Now, here's an FYI for those who don't know:
If you surrender a Pilot mastery and go up another one, you get a Master Pilot XP Bonus. This bonus is equal to 100% of the XP you earn normally. If you get 440 xp for a kill, you will also get a bonus of 440 xp - doubling your XP rate. Every time I killed something it would say "Master Pilot Bonus: xxx". Therefore you can get your next Mastery inno time.
I got to 4444 Alliance Pilot in 2 days because of this nice feature. The only hard part was doing the vette over again, but we knocked it out.
So for all of you who may think the grass is greener after having been a Master Pilot, go switch now, the Master Pilot Bonus makes it possible.

Nice,
But then again, I'll never make master unless they fix the griefing problem.
Small guild, no way to get the group together needed to withstand the gank squads.

Nice to know. Wish I had picked Freelance first to get the YT then come back and do Rebel. Actually tho, could you fly a YT in your datapad if you're Rebel?

Does anyone know if you have to go up the a different pilot profession to get the bonus, or can you do a different squadron in the same profession to get it? (I've been thinking about doing another Reb squadron).
Also, do you keep the old xp? I've got 1.8 mil in starship combat from the time I finished tier 4 until I got the corvette down. It'd be great to just do the missions and ignore grinding until tier 4 if I can. If I drop, do I get the same problem as people do on the ground with old xp, ie it disappears to your cap the first time you train or gain new xp.

they had it in beta too.
I was in beta and never knew of this feature, neither did anyone on my server. Just thought I'd spread the info for others who are not in the know.
