Heya Peeps,
Well I have been flying JTL since beta and I have noticed that NO MATTER HOW HARD OR WILDLY YOU MANUVER THE NPC PILOTS NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER MISS! I have tried all sorts of manuvers that would be EXTREMELY difficult to follow for a human pilot and the NPC's don't even seem to notice. Something must be done about this. Otherwise it's simply a matter of having shields that can handle what you are fighting long enough for your weapons to destroy it. NOT a matter of pilot skill. When running away from enemies, manuvering wildly, under boost, and taking hits as if from a star destroyer, it gets a little old. Enemy turrets seem to miss ONCE IN A GREAT WHILE if you fly tight circles around the multiplayer ships but they too are a bit overdone. Considering how hard it is for ME to hit something, and how hard it is for other players to hit me when doing said manuvers, it should not be possible that the NPC's gunnery is SO GOOD that they NEVER miss. First it's impossible, second it definitely takes away from the fun of playing this game. Tone down the gunnery ai in this game folks, it's ridiculous.

It's not that hard to stay alive. So you take a few hits, you just gotta keep cycling through enemies, sticking on the tail of one target for too long is a deadly error.

Dude, if you cycle through targets, shields regen. I don't know what you're killing, but for me, takes over 30 seconds of constant hits to take down their shields...

It depennds. If you're flying a light Black sun fighter with only 1 gun, then yeah that would be a pain in the ass, but if you've got a medium, or a large, ion cannons will devastate the shields.

If you ask me, it's not that the NPC pilots never miss, it's just that they don't fire on you until they're assured a hit. They don't seem to hit me an excessive amount, but I would like to see more blaster fire flying to and fro from the occasional miss. As someone put it in another thread, "I miss the spray and pray dogfighting from the movies."

Try taking down a teir 3 or 4 ship that goes twice as fast as you and when you turn around to hit him, he is coming at you head on. Most of the time he hits you, your shield is dead. Then you can't run from him even with boost and emergency thrust because he hits you 75% of the time.

No one in a TIE varient other than the bomber should ever be out turned by an NPC. Ever. If you're Rebel and your in a Y-wing thats the price you pay, but in an X,Z, or A you should at least be able to turn as fast as an NPC. Dunno about the B-wing. Never flew one.

When someone's blastin me from behind, and I can't shake the Nerfherder, i just brake.
Cause when you brake, and possibly avoid his ship, you are free of him

People, play Freelancer! I had the same problems in that game, and its simple to beat. Just reduce engine speed as soon as you start to get shot, then press R to target the last enemy ship that shot you. It should be behind you, so do a tight turn and fire away! I know, "sheids recharge" but hey, isn't it better to have to take an extra minute to finish a mission then die from constant fire?
Now for the always hit problem, I agree that the NPCs need to get dumber and don't hit us 100%, including those pesky turrets. I strongly belive lowering their "hit rate" to 60%.

i dunno space fighting can be a problem i can shake npc pretty easy but the problem i have is i engage one then get attack from behind then have to break off the attack on that one and then shake and attack that ship to then be attacked from behind by another ship.... i think this is group game and not a solo game... what im finding..

An Awing should always out menuever an Xwing. Even if the Awing is flown by an NPC and the Xwing is flown by a player. The player must learn to fly his ship to beat the Awing.

erm... dont know what your flying, but they miss me all the time... i see lasers zoom past me as they attempt to attack me while i do spins and stuff....
once a laser is shot, it doesnt change cource to hit you..... if you change cource, it has a high probability to miss... (unless you veer into the shot even more... not that smart...

I agree. And remember, it only gets worse as you advance. It should be possible to dodge at lest SOME of those shots
