Do you mean NPC fighters/pilots or NPC gunners? The NPC gunners are deadeyes. I had no problem with the NPC pilots. Slow to half throttle (or less for those pesky Ties and A wings) and turn inside of them.
Against NPC gunners either pound them outside of their range with missles (gunboats and YT-1300s) or just make a quick pass, pound them then fly out and let you capacitor recharge...repeat as needed after you shield comes back to the living. Never chase a Tie aggressor...you will most cetainly have a bad result. I let them pass and wait until they are 450 away or so and then let them come at me head on. I stop. They die in 1 or 2 passes.

Everybody is having problems with doing missons alone right now, and u can still finish them but once NPC's start missing when they shoot at you, like once or twice it will change. You will be able to accomplish more on your own, that is considering they do change that.

Theynever miss me except when I do such weird manuvers! If you get in a batttle with a higher tier npc ship its pretty much impossible to win cause they just turn on your tail and let you have it, no matter if you are twirling, spinning, going left and right... its crazy. Why wasn't I born a npc... instead of a player...

In X-Wing Alliance I remember being able to dodge Turbolaser fire in an A-Wing by jinking all over the place. I could see the bolts coming up... all be it, at a very fast rate... and I was able to twist and dodge out of the way. The closer I was to the turret the less time I had to avoid. It doesn't make much sense to be hit by every turret shot... heck Luke and Han in the turrets on their escape from the Death Star probably only hit once for every 10 shots...

"We count thirty Rebel ships, Lord Vader, but they're so small they're evading our turbolasers."
"I can't shake him!" "Hold on, Luke, I'll be right there."
"It's so close, I can't manuever!" "Stay on target!"
In case you're wondering what I'm getting at is this:
It's hard to hit. Only when the Imperials were chasing the Y-Wings down the trench, where there was zero maneuverability, did they become dead-eyes.
Even Darth Vader only scored a glancing blow against Red Leader outside of the trench. The ships behind the leaders in the trench run had no other purpose then to take hits from the TIEs behind, giving the leader (hopefully) time to make the shot.
