To the 10%...
Stop threatening and just quit.
While I don't necessarily agree with making Kessel PvE, I DO agree that something had to be done about master missions. It was just really poor thinking. When you design software, you need to think about all the ways to break it. When you design "content", you need to think about griefers. The players that try and try to break/abuse the system. It's not that PvP itself is bad (although the current system is truly terrible, but that's a different discussion), it's the combination of a PvP zone and a mission zone. The "potential" for greifing is just too much. Some kids just can't help themselves. I mean there are posts talking about the great "purpose" to PvP in Kessel, ala masters trying to keep non-masters from mastering. Hmm. Seems like a bad "purpose" if you ask me. I would have been fine with moving the mission outside of Kessel, but I imagine the development effort around that would be much greater than shutting off player damage in one Zone.
What I am hoping is that they make this change UNTIL they move the mission outside of Kessel, then change Kessel back to PvP. Once the mission is outside kessel, feel free to whack anyone and everyone in there to your hearts content. People will have no excuse to get mad.
So to sum up: Really bad PvP system + PvE missions in PvP zone + a couple bad apples = really stupid system.
Imagine this if you will. In order to finish the final box for rifleman, you have to declare and PvP a bunch of other MASTER rifleman in a battlefield, while trying to kill a tusken executioner. Oh and everyone kills everyone else in 1 shot, usually before you finish loading, and it takes 15 minutes just to get the mission again. Bad.
If you guys are so hungry for PvP, declare (yes I said it). If you think there are "tons" of PvP'rs, you shouldn't have any problem finding them overt in space, doing what they love, PvP'ing! If you feel like you have to quit over this, you should go ahead and do it so the rest of us can get back to the game.
My 2c.

And so because you were bored, it was ok to ruin someone else's fun?
IMO, Kessel = PvP, but Master Missions should be held someplace else.

Having 90% of the playerbase upset with a new product is not something that SOE can afford. Something i have come to learn very well after a year of watching my profession decline so that the combat majority can have their mind buffs.

Yup. And on top of that, there are even some zones in the PvP servers in which PvP is not allowed. So to the person who's post was deleted saying that PvE and PvP were heavily interlaced in WoW... sorry, but your wrong.

Well TH said moving the master missions is highly unlikely however once PVP is balanced there should be no issue making kessel back to pvp/pve.
The current stop gap is to stop the grieving while they fix pvp in space.
They need to correct damage and load killing. Damage because in your best ship you are a one shot kill, two at the most when a tier 5 npc is 10-15 hits. And heaven forbid you come across a neutral player with e-pulse 2 lol
Onece pvp is balanced in relation to pve then running in kessel is no more the risk of running faction missions. In faction missions on ground you are TEF'd and yeah if an overt comes by he may attack you, but if he does your armor and buffs make it a fight and not a gank fest. Currently in space your shields and armor do not help you and if you are engaged with NPC's when the player comes along you are dead in one shot
