To the 10%...

Stop threatening and just quit.

While I don't necessarily agree with making Kessel PvE, I DO agree that something had to be done about master missions. It was just really poor thinking. When you design software, you need to think about all the ways to break it. When you design "content", you need to think about griefers. The players that try and try to break/abuse the system. It's not that PvP itself is bad (although the current system is truly terrible, but that's a different discussion), it's the combination of a PvP zone and a mission zone. The "potential" for greifing is just too much. Some kids just can't help themselves. I mean there are posts talking about the great "purpose" to PvP in Kessel, ala masters trying to keep non-masters from mastering. Hmm. Seems like a bad "purpose" if you ask me. I would have been fine with moving the mission outside of Kessel, but I imagine the development effort around that would be much greater than shutting off player damage in one Zone.

What I am hoping is that they make this change UNTIL they move the mission outside of Kessel, then change Kessel back to PvP. Once the mission is outside kessel, feel free to whack anyone and everyone in there to your hearts content. People will have no excuse to get mad.

So to sum up: Really bad PvP system + PvE missions in PvP zone + a couple bad apples = really stupid system.

Imagine this if you will. In order to finish the final box for rifleman, you have to declare and PvP a bunch of other MASTER rifleman in a battlefield, while trying to kill a tusken executioner. Oh and everyone kills everyone else in 1 shot, usually before you finish loading, and it takes 15 minutes just to get the mission again. Bad.

If you guys are so hungry for PvP, declare (yes I said it). If you think there are "tons" of PvP'rs, you shouldn't have any problem finding them overt in space, doing what they love, PvP'ing! If you feel like you have to quit over this, you should go ahead and do it so the rest of us can get back to the game.

My 2c.

I was working on my master mission today and hade some guy come up from behind me and shoot me and my friend down. Suffice to say, I was almost half way done with the mission and I was rather tee'd off, but I'm not going to quit over it. I am not playing for the rest of the day, and maybe tomorrow, just to get over the frustration of failing the same mission for the 6th time, and this time being because some guy thought it would be funny to shoot me in the back.

But you know what? It doesnt matter. Let the gankers keep ganking, they obiviously have nothing better to do to than induldge themselves in simple pleasures. If the person who shot me down did for the sake of PvP, more power to him, and I hold no grudge. But if it was a ganker, I hope that Lord Vader brings a quick and painful vengance upon his head.

Side note: just my luck to be an Imp Colonel getting shot down by a TIE Oppressor. Being neutral in Kessel is worse then being an overt Reb in the Emperor's Retreat... unbuffed.

Looks like it was deleted, but let me respond anyway...

"Other people besides you pay 15$ a month bud."

Agreed.

"The problem with this game is people like you who want safety and security all the time."

Never said that's what I wanted.

"If you suck too much to go to a PvP zone for 2 missions (yes, broken as one is) then I suggest EQ2 or SIMS2where all you have to deal with is predictable AI."

Pretty typical responsefrom an "uber 1337".

"Thanks to you and all the other kids whinning who have destroyed this game."

We never asked to make Kessel PvE. Just that the mission be removed from Kessel. And destroyed the game? Can anyone say melodramatic?

"This soul of this game shouldn't be to separate the PvE and PvP at every single step, just to make a few no-talent asshats happy."

LOL

"It should be more interlaced. I bet youre one of those players that walk around all day covert too scared to even fight for your faction because youre afraid yourskill, or lack thereof will show."

Ahh yes, I must be one of THOSE types.

"W.O.W. got it right, PVE laced heavily with PVP, all the time, thus weeding out the scrubs like you who can't handle it."

There is a difference between not being able to handle it, and thinking the system is poorly designed. Go play CS.

Glad that post got deleted, but make sure you edit that bad word, or you'll get deleted too

I also agree that Kessel should be PvP, just take the mission out of there. PvP now is about one volley, and its over. First shot wins. I'm sorry for all those l337s out there, but just because you spent more time than anyone else to grind out pilot so you would not have to deal with PvP, go to Deep Space and leave me alone.

I also think that it would help to have a server dedicated to players who are a little more mature then the current crowd. I am sick of 12 year olds annoing me constantly, my ignore list has a max I'm not saying they actually stand a chance against me, its just they are annoying, like those Tier1 pirates that try to chase you down.

A server for mature players... great idea.

Has anyone ever considered that the PvPers were in there ganking because they really DIDNT have anything better to do?

I mean theres no content for space at ALL right now.

None, zip zilch. If you want to take a break from grinding, and you have a semblance of courage, you went to Kessel, and tried to mix it up with people.

Now thats right out the window.

If you are non master, you have 2 options now.

Grind, or /quit for the day.

As far as i know Wow is supposed to have pvp and non pvp servers available. The key word is choice. Having 90% of the playerbase upset with a new product is not something that SOE can afford. Something i have come to learn very well after a year of watching my profession decline so that the combat majority can have their mind buffs.

Well when you put it like that, it is perfectly acceptable! LOL.

Blame SOE for the lack of content, and stop throwing around the carebear and PvE monkey comments, unless I should assume you are a griefer just because you like to PvP?

And so because you were bored, it was ok to ruin someone else's fun?

IMO, Kessel = PvP, but Master Missions should be held someplace else.

Yup. And on top of that, there are even some zones in the PvP servers in which PvP is not allowed. So to the person who's post was deleted saying that PvE and PvP were heavily interlaced in WoW... sorry, but your wrong.

Well TH said moving the master missions is highly unlikely however once PVP is balanced there should be no issue making kessel back to pvp/pve.

The current stop gap is to stop the grieving while they fix pvp in space.

They need to correct damage and load killing. Damage because in your best ship you are a one shot kill, two at the most when a tier 5 npc is 10-15 hits. And heaven forbid you come across a neutral player with e-pulse 2 lol

Onece pvp is balanced in relation to pve then running in kessel is no more the risk of running faction missions. In faction missions on ground you are TEF'd and yeah if an overt comes by he may attack you, but if he does your armor and buffs make it a fight and not a gank fest. Currently in space your shields and armor do not help you and if you are engaged with NPC's when the player comes along you are dead in one shot
