...get through escort missions and hijacking transports. There has to be a way to do these without mission failure, but I fail them everytime. Any help with how to do these would be greatly appreciated guys! Thanks.

For escort missions bring some friends. I complete them all the time. Just need to be able to take out the attackers fast enough.

Don't destroy the enemy ships, it's faster to disable them. If you have the time before the next swarm, then go and destroy the disabled ships. But if the next swarm starts attacking or the escort is getting too far away, don't worry about them. In a few minutes, disabled ships self-destruct anyway and you usually get the EXP.
