I don't have a problem with one shot, one kill....although I have heard stories of novas being brought down in only a couple. THen only recommendation that I have is concerning the 1st and 3rd person views.
I come into JTL from the online flight sim community. You go against superior planes, guns, manuverability, all the time. But the equalizing factor, in my opinion at least, is every one plays from the 1st person view, with the cockpit. You are forced to use your view keys and maintain situational awareness and keep your eyes on your target. You have to stay on your target, and if you are chased youhave a chance to evade and extend.
JTL, at this time, however allows a wide 3rd person view. This system, in my opinion, is the greatest problem to pvp right. 3rd person allows you to see exactly which way the current target is rolling and vectoring and almost takes away any need for situational awareness. Why have a fast nimble ship, like an a-wing....when I can just pop into 3rd person view and almost keep up with that ship anyway.
I think that making sure that all players are playing in 1st person view might be the balencing factor that may be needed.

I more or less agree with you, 3 person view + "Field of View" option, almost takes away a whole dimension of dogfighting.

I'm surprised you're not complaining more about radar and targeting direction since in my opinion they clearly give you more of an advantage than the 3rd person view does. After all, being able to see your target doesen't mean being able to hit your target. You ask what the point of having an A-Wing is when your enemy can still see you, but the real point isn't to roll out of view, it's to roll out of the line of fire. If you are piloting a nimble A-Wing and your enemy is piloting a sluggish heavy fighter, then you automatically have the advantage since your adversary needs to constantly throttle down to even be able to turn fast enough to try and face you. The point of the more nimble fighters like A-Wings and TIE Interceptors is to allow good manuvering at high speeds while all other ships must slow down to get any kind of a decent turning rate.
As far as an advantage, even if someone was forced into first person view they could still electronically see you not only by radar, but also by targeting indicators. Without having to see your physical ship I can still know exactly where you are and what direction to turn through my radar and target indicators. If I wanted to I could also turn on the camera lock to snap my cameras view point to face directly towards your ship. So even if the back wall of my TIE Interceptor cockpit were blocking the physical view I could still have my camera perspective facing your ship at all times.
3rd person view doesen't give much of an advantage, for the most part it only gives people who dislike the cramped feeling of a cockpit interior an alternative choice.

Third-person view is for noobs anyway. I can't play third-person view. Feels too "basic" for me.

The option is there, if you want to be equal use 3rd person as well. Personally I am better in 1st person and much prefer 1st person, but I don't think there is any harm letting other people use 3rd person. Not everyone plays in mine, or your, styles and everyone should be able to play how they feel more comfortable. I really don't see the harm in 3rd person pvp, if your a good enough pilot you can follow and anticipate moves, without the need for a wide view anyway.
