Thread: Capture the Hutt Smuggler mission help!!!!

OK, so I am on Yavin 4 having completed my pilot to 2222. I do the first mission and unlock my free 3rd box. So then he sends me on another mission. This one has 3 parts. The first part is disable the Hutt Smuggler Ship (Made it through). The second part is broadcast a transmission (Made it through). Then comes the 3rd part. Escort the captured vehicle through Nyms controlled space. I failed this 3 times and finally took a group up with me to help. And once again in the same part of the mission the ship gets captured and we fail. We were owning the enemies and had them down to 2 left and it still failed. Somehow they re-capture the Hutt ship. What the heck is going on here!!!!! The Hutt ship was still in 100% condition and the enimies were barely firing on it.
How the heck do we get through this?????? Has anyone completed this???? Or is this mission bugged.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

This is just a guess on my part but take a group again and attempt to disable the enemy ships instead of killing them. This should buy you enough extra time to complete the mission successfully. I know it is tempting to kill the ships for the xp or loot but because it takes more time to kill then disable it sounds like you are allowing the enemy enough time to retake the ship.

In the first part you have to disable the ship. We did that. IN the part we are stuck on you cant shoot the ship you are escorting. You have to kill the enemies attacking it.

I think you misunderstand. Don't kill the enemies attacking....disable them. By not killing them you buy time for your mission to complete. Alternately, everyone in your group can disable the attacking ships while one person goes around and actually "cleans up" those disabled ships. Again, this should buy time AND give you xp. Also, are you escorting the disabled ship to a certian location. If so, make sure you (it your mission) stay relatively close to the ship. If you move off too far the mission can end. I know this has happened to me on some of my missions that are similar to this one.....

OK I tried this and when I/we disabled them it just sent more waves and eventually it killed it. I stayed nearby it (which is tough in its own since it doesnt seem to appear on the radar and its very easy to get away from it) It seems like verytime we get the enemy wave down to 3 ships on this part the mission fails. I am beginning to think this is another bugged mission.
THIS IS UNREAL!!!!!

A wingmate and I just did a Rebel mission very similar to yours. There were only two of us and we were able to use the "disable" and move on method I mentioned above. And yes, we did get waves spawning before we could finish off the previous wave. What we did was that as soon as the new wave spawned the person whose mission it was flew off into the newly attacking wave. As soon as, the last fighter from the previous wave was dispatched, the wingmate joined in on the now new wave. We repeated this about three times and as the fourth wave made its first pass the ship we were escorting Hypered out and we won that phase. Yes, it there was another phase after the escort mission. Anyway, I think it is a timing issue for you. you have to break up the attackers as quickly as you can. Don't double up on the same fighters unless you absolutely have no other targets. Also, take one or two extra people with you if you must. I don't think this mission is bugged, it is simply takes a little more effort then the previous missions.

Thanks...I was able to finish it with the help of a very skilled pilot. He made the mission seem like a level 1 mission. LOL!!!
