I don't know how many people think about sound as part of detail, but I noticed something about the sounds that the Y-Wing's enginesmake in JTL.They definitely don't sound like those in Star Wars or ROTJ. I'm probably cursed with a phonographic memory as far as sound and musicare concerned, yetI wasdisappointed, because I wantedto hear the good ol' low pitch "whistling" engines of a Y-Wing. Instead I hear engines that seem more alien than it would be belonging to the Star Wars universe. I wonder what some people think. Take this off the forums or is this worth mentioning?

Different engines produce different sounds.

I have a TIE fighters engine in mine.

I'm talking about the sound the regular Y-wing engines make, not the different types of engines. Why can't people read and comprehend before posting?

What 'regular' Y-wing engines? You don't get one from a trainer so chances are you either A: Bought your engines, or B: Looted your engines.

Either way, there's no guarantee they're going to sound like the Y-Wing engines from any other game.

but how do you know what the regular engine isin-game?

besides the Y-wing in ROTJ may be a slightly improved version than the one we use in game simply because its further ahead in the timeline

I did read you first post. It was all about engine sounds. I replyed about what my engin sound is. You have to loot or find an engine with the sound you want.

The Y-wing does make other sounds as well. When you overload your reactor, an alarm goes off.

The different types of weapons make different sounds too.

I've listened closely over and over again in ROTJ,the Y-Wing enginesdo sound the same as in Star Wars (if you're episode-based, then ANH). And again, I'm not talking about the types of Y-Wing engines. I'm talking about the *sound*-- I repeat-- the sound of the Y-Wing's engines. If you're using TIE engines in a Y-Wing does it sound different or not; that's a different topic. Plus, what do you mean how do I know what the regular engine is in-game? It doesn't really make a difference unless you use some looted engine or something.

Good gravy...

I would say the Koenysyr (sp?) engines are going to be the "Y-wing" ones if any, since that is the maufacturor of the Y-wings in mass production.

Look, maybe you're being unclear. The Y-Wing's sounds will differ depending on what engine you put in it.

Maybe you can tell us which engine manufacturer and type you think is the "Y-Wing Engine"??

I believe the engine sound doesn't change no matter which engine you use, it depends on what craft you fly.

Right now I'm just suggesting that the Y-wing engines have the same or similarcheesy sound from X-Wing Alliance. If you've played Rogue Leader or Rebel Strike and flew the Y-Wing or listened closely to the Y-Wing's engines in the Star Warsfilms(ANH and ROTJ), and then listen to the same craft's engines in JTL, you can tell the difference. If not, this post I made is probably falling on undiscerning ears.

Hmm..must've changed since beta then. In beta, the looks and the sound of my Y-Wing changed depending on the engine I used. Now, most low-level engines were the same. But once I started to loot 60+ speed engines, they varied greatly.
