Thread: Got ganked twice trying to do the master missions. This may be the last straw.

Really has more to do with the utter lack of content in JTL (A video interview about hundreds of space quests being mentioned comes to mind as another broken promise). Thats why they placed Master mission in Kessel, a sad attempt to drag the content of JTL out longer so they can buy time to fix the ground game. I mean... when you get 4/4/4/4 in three days after launch... and you don't even play that hard something is wrong.

As for not wanting to be involved in PVP, well..... Let's say there was a way to Master without entering a PVP zone. Once you get master what are you going to do? I may have missed something, but once the missions are done I think the next step is either PVP or don't go in space. I am not sure about this. You will probably be able to do duty missions, but it will no longer have a goal of reaching a certain XP number.
I am afraid that a lot of people will get to the point of having to go to Kessle or Deep Space and just give up. Don't let that happen. Look for a PA, ask around the starport and space station if anyone needs help on missions, make in game friends and group up.

Blah, Blah, Blah I want to grief you Blah Blah Blah.. thats all I read from that.
1. SWG was never about forced open PvP, even the imperial crackdown that could force one into PvP by being scanned could be avoided by avoiding Imperial NPCs or staying neutral.
2. There are people that don't want to PvP. Just like you wish to PvP, what makes your desires more important than other? Nothing, you just wish to grief those that do not want to PvP and therefore are weak and need to find a hole to crawl in and die.
3. There should be an alternative for those that do not wish to PvP to get to master box, 7.5 million is not exactly easy to grind, perhaps that and another mission in a non-pvp zone as an alternative.
4. PvP in JTL is dead out of the gate. I will continue to illustrate this by one shotting every red player I see in Kessel that heads towards me. It takes no skill just weapons overload 4, 3 guns and knowing when to fire before the lead indicator comes up. One hit and boom, sometimes others hit me first and I go boom. There is no skill just who has the most firepower and shoots first on the head to head merge.
1. We could just as easily argue that your PvE solo grind style is ruining our game. How? Because it gets F'n lame to see everyone running around with master this and master that, not to mention all the freakin' jedi that will be running around down the road. Maybe some of us don't want to see B-Wings and YT 1300s everywhere? Why should yourdesiresmore importantthan ours?
2. Solo grinding is ruining this game. Players don't interact anymore because it's faster, more lucrative, and easier to put on uber comp, get buffed, and do solo missions by yourself. Again, your play style is affecting our game, because most of us don't play MMORPG's to play by ourselves.
2. Most people realize that PvP in JTL is a little out of whack right now. Don't base your judgements of the mission on the current PvP model.

Soooooo on what model should we base our judgements then?
On the space combat revamp model to be released in 2010?

And thats better than seeing A wings and TIE advanced everywhere? Sure don't remember that from the movies. In case you didn't catch it I do PvP, when I feel like it and when I'm prepared. Battlefields where great for this on the ground, a place everyone had to be open to PvP had objectives but they turned them off instead of fixing them, did you find any quest or master box in them? Hell no. What it sounds like to me is you want PvP all the time and everywhere. And perhaps they should cater to that with a Open PvP server perhaps, of course it would never get off the ground because all the crafters that support your PvP would get griefed into oblivion. There are plenty of players that will want to PvP and you will find them in Kessel, why is it that you desire so much to have grief targets.. I mean opponents that are not master, do not PvP, do not have the most ubber loot RE components and perhaps are very new to the Combat flight sim genre?

I will keep this one short. I agree SOLO grinding is ruining the game. Now where in that does it imply that PvP must be involved? Have you heard me voice one complaint that you can't solo the corvette (Well imperials can with alittle luck)? SWG got away from a group community orientation with super buffs and armor, It will be very hard to get the community back toward to that state. But it in now way means forced, open PvP comes with it. The missions should have been hard enough to prevent soloing, but I did it to 4/4/4/4 and only had trouble with one mission and even then when I rethought it, it wasn't that hard.
2. Most people realize that PvP in JTL is a little out of whack right now. Don't base your judgements of the mission on the current PvP model.
Didn't we already have #2? Anyway counting aside the current PvP model is the current PvP model and the one everyone must deal with so why shouldn't I make judgements on it? The community in beta pressed from week 1 to get the PvP damage adjusted, nothing was ever done. I don't expect a change until SOE starts loosing subscriptions again because thats the only thing SOE listens to MONEY.

How does SEEING a title on someone or someone in a particular shipeven remotely compare to being attacked and killed by another player every time you try to progress???
Answer: it doesn't. It's a lame comparison, and your argument holds no water.
I've asked time and time again on this board for a GOOD reason to force the unwilling into PvP in order to Master, and no one has been able to give me one. Not a single one. Every single reason given as been based solely on selfishness. Just as yours is. The only people who want to force PvP on others are those who want easy, unwilling targets to grief or want something that can make them feel superior to others. There are no other reasons.
