Thread: Things I'd like to add to JtL (feel free to add yours)

1. Make turrets on enemy craft less accurate.

2. Prevent other people's mission targets from being locked when you select "Target Nearest Enemy" and put a yellow targeting box around other people's mission objectives.

3. Make the Soro Suub re-deedable and prevent the permanent loss of a lot when you destroy it.

4. Add a 30 second invulnerability timer (where you can't attack) for loading in a new sector when hyperspacing to prevent being ganked at the jump point.

5. Allow hyperspace coordinates to be selected using the map and the actual hyperspace engine to be engaged with a command. (So you can select a hyperspace escape route when going to REALLY dangerous systems.)

6. Capital ships yielding 32000+ XP should have at least four challengingescort fighters.

7. Add guild tags in space.

8. Add grouped mission waypoints.

Some early suggestions:



  • COMBAT


    • Improved radar:


      • make bracketsblink rapidly around any ship trying to shoot at you

      • waypoints should blink slowly (need help finding them)

      • larger dots (for those of us with lousy eyesight)

      • a legend,preferablyin a pop-up windowfrom a button on the radar

    • Improved targeting:


      • brighter target lock

      • give audiblefeedback whenobject istarget locked (esp. enemy ships!)

      • display an icon to clearlyshow a lockedpotential target's tier

      • display rotating locked ship graphic in appropriate color:


        • blue = self

        • green = friendly ship

        • yellow = non-aggressive but attackable ship

        • red = enemy ship

    • Display"lines in space"showingrequired patrol paths from waypoint to waypoint

    • Don't play loudcombat music when merely reaching a waypoint for a mission

  • COMMERCE


    • Asteroid mining

    • Cargo speculation and freight hauling economic game

    • PvP piracy ("Arrrrrrrrr!")

make the radar window resizable like in the ground game


use the SAME color differentiation (NPC's, Enemies, Group Members, Faction NPC's and PC's)


reduce the accuracy of NPC freighters


make more than reactor and engine components targetable on ALL ships


make a disabled craft STOP being able to fire it's weapon


make the level progression mission NON-FORCEABLE grouping


make the master level mission NON-FORCEABLE PvP


make grouping space more user friendly


make an assist button for space so group members can target the same target as group leader


give squad leaders special abilities in space, if you can't do that then make a new profession called squadron leader maybe?


give those ugly rebels flight helmets so we don't have to look at em on the ground and they can cover those ugly mugs


MORE STAR DESTROYERS!!!! MON CALAMARI CRUISERS!!!! Grond/Space based integration missions (disable the corvette before you can board it? sounds fun)


make faction count in space, kill a hutt lose faction on the ground, simple really


MORE MUSIC FROM THE TIME PERIOD!!! I'm playing in between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, NOT Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones


make missions that have branched objectives with the ability to continue where you may have failed not have to start the mission over


make starship terminals available in Jabba's Palace and Emperor's Retreat


I could go on, but I guess this would be enough for now

Now if we can just get some of those other GUIimprovements....


(And what's the timetable on Space Commerce features? Nag, nag, nag.... )

Make the telling player's avatar show up at the receiving player's screen when sending a /tell in space, just like when the enemy taunts you or you dock with a mission ship.



Bindable shortcut keys for players you often send tells to. Like the combination Ctrl + 1 is bound to command /tell Lag'Yari



Change back the Alt key interface to the way it was before. If I have my mouse cursor up it should stay that way, even if I load to another city/planet/sector.



Dialouge option for multiplayer ships; the amount of times you get loaded into your friends ship because he launches before you is just ridiculous. When he launches give the nearby groupmembers a window with "Do you wish to enter [name's] multipassenger ship? [Yes/No]
