Thread: Rebel ships uber & And flying near planets! *IDEA*

Hey all, first of all let me state jtls isa pretty good game. Takes a weeee bit longer to get xp (Take that macro grinderz!) but its none the less cool. Flying around...kicking some butt.....Its awesome. Now anyway The thing i see about this game is that rebel ships are much powerful than imp ships. Tie fighters only shoot two blasters at once, (due to the original fact that they were meant for stopping non combat ships such as carriers or seizing) that are relativly weak. The x wing fires 4 cannons and the y wing is pretty darn good with its strong cannons and bombings. (i don't know if we can use bombs though). Anyway i like this idea, rebel aircraft ARE SUPPOST to be better than imperial air craft...

(not including star destroyers).




But, anyway i have an idea to counter this, although devs won't listen i just want to see who agrees. This would require us to be able to pilot imperial vehicles, since imperialground vehicles are stronger than rebel ground vehicles. First off the ATST should be much stronger and a piloted vehicle. It should be able to aim just like controlling a gun of an aircraft. Now the current stats and damage of the Current ATST should be turned into an ATPT. A smaller walker that is rather deadly. It is also to be piloted. Now the ATAT. It should be the strongest of all these vehicles and do powerful damage to overt players. Its slow and well armored. Probably the defense of a super battledroid or higher (95% on alldefenses besides lightsaber). However shooting at an aircraft would somewhat be hard, so anti air missles would be needed. I believe their should be anti air turrets that would protect imperial or rebel bases. And rockets from a commando would be heat seeking and would be able to do powerful damage to any aircraft, this way commandos become more valuable. Now since the at pt's and at st's can be destroyed from y wings from bombs the ATAA is now in affect. This spider looking walker that can shoot many anti air missles. It is one of the bane's of aircraft. Of course all imperial ground vehicles can be taken out the same just like an at st.


Now this brings me to my other point. How will people be able to bomb if they can't fly near planets? First off i think that we should be allowed to fly near planets and planet ground. If we bump into a mountain or something we get damaged. Simple. But the devs probably think "if people take ground missions such as a huurton lair people can safely blast lairs and enemies without harm. True, but however we should still get XP for taking out ground units. Now to solve this case we could simply add planet based air missions. In which the player can get rather good xp and money without having to fly off into space and load everytime into space and back from a mission on a planet. Anyway if you're in a tie fighter perhaps and take a mission you won't get lair missions instead npc base missions. The bases will have people with rockets, a flag/base and some anti air guns. This would be a challenge since you'd have to do hit and run. But by doing so you can get money and xp.



Now that i have explained flying near planets for PVE now its time for pvp. Of course the same duel methods could be usedto fight neutral ships or something. But most of the JTLS is GCW based. So lets say we have a player city. And we have a y wing that decides to go bomb its base. First off Y wing bombers will have a much bigger bomb radius than the imperial tie bomber and do much more damage. Second of all bombers/fighters can only hit OVERT players. If they attempt to hit a target it will only do an animation and nothing will happen..OR a better idea yet, would be you can only shoot targets that are in PVP with the red name above their head(you still have to click everytime you fire your weapon).


I also believe some rebel vehicles should be made but are not nearly as devestating as the imperial ground vehicles. I also think that the speederbike and the land speeder should have weapons on them. This would make ground vehicles more useful than just for transportation.


Now i have one more idea, and its an idea to give mounted creatures a better use. They were used for transport but not better than the ground speeders. So now i have an idea how to bring them back. Lets say that WS can now add gas tanks/battery packs to mounts. Gas tanks will be attatched to the side of a creature mount and will have a huge bar (similar to the vehicle health bar) that will drain much slower when you use specials. The gas tank will be for commandos and the battery pack will be for BH's. So let me give you an example. Your on a mount and you hooked it up with a gas tank and you have a commando flamethrower. You can now use your flame special without the worry of losing your ham. Instead it slowly drains from the gas tank, but much much slower than a commando. This way if you're buffed it will give your buffs a better effect


Final idea. Since the Air combat is more of an air combat game or simulant, i believe that the ground game should be more of an action/rpg hybrid. Which are very successful where you click and aim at an enemy and whatever you hit will take damage from that ham bar (hit the head you do head damage hit torso you do body damage).


Just an idea who knows mabey devs will make
