Thread: Please read: Massive xp giving ships?
- Call in a bombstrike when within 1500m. This will do some damage to the gunship and keep some of its turrets busy.
- Approach the gunship from behind, at maximum range, "strafe". Once you receive return fire TURN AND BURN. Get out of range and come in for another pass.
- Target the following components in order: Weapon 1 (Back Top), Weapon 3 (Back Bottom, It think), Weapon 2, Weapon 0. Once the back ones are down its easier to kill the other two components. When you do strafing passes, try to stay at maximum weapon range, if the gunboat's guns begin to fire and you don't have much room to escape, they'll tear you apart before you can weave and dodge out of range.
- When the weapons are down, disable the engines to prevent hypering. Then just finish it off.
Its roughly 30K or so per kill. Not too shabby. Takes a little maneuvering now, whereas before all you had to do was get right next to the engine. Remember, turn and burn IMMEDIATELY when you receive fire from the gunship. It will tear through your shields and armor pretty quick. You can always come back for another pass at maximum range, it won't go anywhere.
i kept on hitting it from it's belly blindspot and disabled it's reactor.. then plugged away till it blew
no xp for me..

Yeah, I was operating under the tips of all the current Tier 4 players on Eclipse...
"Get on it's butt and stay there!" Uh huh - the Tier 4 gunship boss of the final Tier 3 mission will EAT YOU FOR LUNCH if you do that.
On a nicer note: the YT-1300 still has a blind spot (helped a 4444 friend against a Tier 4 where I rolled in behind and disabled both turrets within 10 seconds), and the Nova Courier is deaf, dumb and blind if you keep under it. Supposedly the Corvette is blind in the ass, but that remains to be seen, and good luck getting there to begin with.

That shouldn't be the case if it is a mission spawn. no one but the originator and anyone grouped with them can shoot it. if it was someone's mission i'd be hearing that irritating beeping noise as i hit it.This shuttle is a static spawn that shows up as a yellow blip on the radar until you shoot at it. no other fighters in the area.
On most missions that is the case, but it seems that a few missions are bugged. I had one last night as an RSF teir 3 misison that required docking with a yt-1300, and some guy was killing them before I could dock with them. It took like 5 spawns before I could dock and proceed with the misison. At least he couldnt destroy it while I was docked with it..trust me..he tried.
