Ok now I know all the whining lately has been for or against the whole kessel thing. Me, since I haven't been up to get the master pilot mission, or any of the deep space things, i can't put something really constructive in about anything like that. Personally for me there's so much non Star Wars stuff in this game, that I'm surprised they don't change the name.
For starters the things that irk me is the fact that neutral players can't change to a faction skill set without losing all their skils and doing everything all over again. Personally to me that's pretty idiotic. Did they tell Han Solo that he couldn't join the Rebellion, because while he was a master smuggling pilot, in the Rebellion he would forget how to fly his own ship, and have to start of piloting from the beginning in a Z-95? Further on the same line, why did luke automatically get to fly an X-wing at the Battle of Yavin, when he didn't start flying a plane till that mission?
Was it because he had a cool astromech droid already, so that they didn't have to issue him one? and why was Luke able to keep his starter ship, that had a hyperdrive when the rest of use can't hyperspace without buying our own ship. I guess I can see the han solo thing. he lost all his piloting skills while he was encased in carbonite, and when he thawed out, he wasn't able to pilot his ship, and hat's why he let Lando fly his ship. That's exactly what happenned.
OK now another thing, I don't see why the majoity of us smugglers have to go through all the steps and pain in the butt missions to get into jabba's palace to finish our missions, when Han Solo didn't sit around on tatooine running errands for all jabba's minions so that he could get his smuggling jobs finished. (long run-on sentence I know, but I don't want to deal with the whole grammer issue right now.) I hate to always go to the whole han Solo issue thing, but all he did to get to see Jabba is pull a successful job for Jabba(Not technically Jabba, it was his cousin.). in order to fly missions for Jabba and Jiliac.
Now before all you peope start saying that the theme-park missions are easy and everything like that. I personally don't want to sit on the ground falling asleep while going through the motions of cobat, that I can't stand, so that I can finish a part of something that should have nothing at all to do with ground based combat. I came back to the game only for space combat. because the majority of the people don't have or can't get working all the really good star wars flight sims. Not to mention the idea of flying in star wars with a ton of poeple has always been soemthing that I've been interested in. There is a lot in the space package, that makes the rest of the game barely tolerable. I just can't really see why certain thing were put in in the first place.
What's the big deal with someone being able to go through the freelance skill tree and the rebel or imperial skills? Is it going to hurt anyone elses gameplay? If someone wants to go all the way through the Freelance pilot skills, and then wants to spend the same amount of time going through the rebel or imperial skills does it cause a problem for everyone else? you can only have three ships active in your datapad, so it can't be server disk space. And it can't be that their items wont work in other ships, because al items work for every ship. it also can't be the fact that one person could fly their Kihraxz or Kimogila and then decide they want to fly around int heir other factional ships.
Since you ahve to be in a rebel or imperial ship, to declare your faction in space, it can't be that it will break the game in any way.
Seems to me the only reason they can keep the name Star Wars on this product is that you have some semblence of a war among the Stars.
Now excuse me while I leave to redeed all my gear and stow it in my house, so that I can go through all my missions again so hopefuly I can get a shot at a Master Pilot of some kind.
