Nope, it's just that at random, rolling and turning to the left with the joystick (not hat button) slows to a crawl when it shoud move fast. It's strange...

I use the same stick and so does a buddy of mine. Neither of us have any problems with it.
As far as the top-hat goes...
You have to assign the directions on it keystrokes instead of its default point-of-view controls.
Open up the Logitech Profiler software (should be a black and red "W" on your taskbar, or look for the
Logitech program group in the Start bar), and you can set up a profile for SWG.
You can then assign the top-hat directions key stroke equivalents. Just figure out what direction you
want to be what command in game. Then set that direction to the appropriate key stroke.
There you go!

I had this problem also, need to unplug and replug USB to reset calibration since control panel properties seem to have no calibration option.
Did a Google(TM) on it and found out this is a common problem for this joystick. Some people in reviews even said it gets worse over time and becomes non-fixable
. I hope I didn't pay a lot of money for a piece of garbage. Just be sure to keep your reciept, you may be taking a lot of these back to the store.

As the title says, that's the joystick I am using, and I have a quite annoying problem with either it, or maybe it's the game itself.
While flying, and what seems to be at random, my turn rate and roll speed in the left direction just slows down to a crawl on all ship chassises at any speed. In order for me to fly normally again, I have to unplug the joystick and plug it back it.
Does anyone else have this problem? Devs? Anyone?...

I purchased the same joystick and It works fine....except one really annoying thing. I can't get it to function with the targeting reticle, the aiming stick on stop of the joystick is controlling my point of view inside the cockpit, instead of giving me the more accurate targeting reticle. And I can't log in now that i have JTL...

That hat switch is just allowing you to look around. It's not for targeting.

so you can never get the Hat switch to work like your mouse when playing with a keyboard and mouse?
