I'm sure 25% is just a starting point. it will get dialed in to a comfortable level for all parties involved.

I remember the days whenpeople would run through bestine and in a series of Eye Shots the whole escapade was over. So hopefully it will make the battles more strategic and longer. Longer means more memorable to some.

Correct. If you dial it down to much you have to go back upwards, this way they cover all the ground going in the same direction, downward. I would assume it will eventually be at around 20-35% of what it is now.

any reasonable, sober, human would assume that. The devs... not so much of either. Start at 25% why? politics, player base politics

Actually they started at 0% in both space and the ground game. Dunno why they did it in either place, and especially in space after knowing that they had to reduce on the ground.

I would rather they slowly lower the damage than drop it into an abyss like some games do and then have everyone complaining they can't kill anyone in PvP.

The thing about damage reduction is it's a slipery slope in this implementation. For example, for fast moving ships like the a-wing and tie advance the dogfights last long enough already. If you make some massive shot in the dark like 75% it could make it so you have the fast mover ships battling for far too long. Im ok with taking it easy and starting with 25% to see how it works.
