A couple of times I have inspected a passing freighter and noticed it was hauling experimantal equipment, cloths, ect.

I proceed to disable their engines, and reactor and then dock with them. I get the message that the contentshave beentransfered to my ship.

Where is it on my ship? I can't find it.

If I inspect the freighter again it has nothing on board, so I got it somewhere.

I think you don't actually get the stuff. Those things are just items in a list of stuff you might have to get for a particular mission. For instance, I was told to locate a Lambda Shuttle with an Imperial Officer. I found two that had other things. I disabled the shuttle with the officer, docked, he was on board, and when I got back to the recruiter, he was turned over. You don't actually get the stuff on the freighter.
