Thread: Leave Kessel as is and implement stuff like the following...

Speaking as a master pilot I think Kessel should stay as is.


I got my 30 npc kills by staying up late when the pvp population was down and tapping my "target nearest player ship" button over and over again. If an enemy player was near by.. politely send them a tell and say you're working on a mission and not looking for pvp. Despite what you might think alot of people were cool with this.


If they don't reply and look like they're snoozing.. then blow them up and continue on your mission. The 30 npc thing should be soloed. More players just draws attention to yourself.


Pretty much the same deal with the corvette, but obviously bring some friends. Its not impossible to do and if you ask any nearby enemy players to cut you some slack while you do your mission I find most were willing to do that.


So what will the purpose of Kessel be after its non PvP? The "master box" zone? There will be no reason to go there ever again other than to lootTeir 5 fighters.


The game needs:


1) More Missions to Master Pilot this game needs wayyy more missions during the course of leveling pilot. I don't remember being able to beat X-Wing so quickly. It was HARD.


2) Master Pilot Continued Missions. These could get you continued cool rewards like the jackets, helmets and nice parts.


3) Space Mission terminals.. DUHHH.. like this seems like a no brainer.. why isn't it in the game? There's misison terminals for everything else.


4) Disable and Board missions. Get a gang together.. DISABLE a corellian corvette. and then get the option to board it... you're all then whisked away to an instanced corvette and continue the mission on foot. that would be F'ING COOL. I know alot of players that wonder why stuff like that isn't in there to really merge the space/ground game dynamic.


5) POI's. Be nice if even a 10th of the space poi's actually had anything interesting at them. There's one called "The Void".... I think its in corellian space.. and there's nothign there.. but.. empty space. Appropriate name I guess.


6) Medals and Badges Take some obvious cues from the old xwing games. Remember all the medals and badges you could get in those games. I loved getting those. Becoming the emperor's hand.. and all that. .this isn't even something hard to include.. just something to track your kills and performance on a mission.


7) Boardable Space Stations: If we can have multiplayer ships that let us run around together, why not space stations. Even if there's some issue with too many players being able to go inside at once.. then put a cap on it. Its realistic.. no station has infinite room for infinite ships.. so say only 20-30 players at a time on a station. This would let the non-master players have the fun of running around inside a space based thing with windows and looking out.. they can trade loot, get healed.. etc etc.


The big problem is that there's really NOTHING to do after you get master. The game needs continued missions and rewards given from your master trainer. Just keep the missions getting harder.. more capital ships.. keep story lines going so that the game feels like it has some content. The systems are obviously already all in place.. but some real polish on this thing and JtL could really continue to be great for a long time to come.

i would have to agree with this stuff, and yes most people will leave others alone if they ask. The key is to stay alert when in the face of danger.

What players didn't grief you when the had an opportunity? How can that be? Only non pvp players would ever help another player out or not try to ruin their gaming experience. Everyone who wants the challenge inthe game is a 12 year old idiot who will kill you as soon as look at you right? I'm shocked where are the "gank squads"? You must be crazy because all I heard from the chicken little's of this game were horror stories of griefers at every turn. Doesn't matter the chicken littles have won again. Plus you did something unheard of, you were paying attention to your surroundings, that's unnecessary in this game, it's all about being able to go make a sandwich while grinding and such. You got some crazy ideas and trust in your fellow gamer.

Pretty evident the mission system in this game needs a major overhaul. Hope the devs realize that and come up with some workable ideas.

Great post phrawst. I love the ideas you had on this one. Very cool stuff. The space mission terminals should have been implimented before this thing went live. I think you'll see those soon enough. Anyone remember back when SWG first launched and all we had were 2 types of mission terminals...the regular ones and the BH ones? Now there's like what...6 or 7 types? They'll come eventually. Boardable space stations would be awesome, same with disabling and boarding a ship. Be great to have a squad of people in a YT-1300 and a few more people in some fighters take a ship down and then go in and take down the crew. Thats one of the best ideas I've heard for this game in a long time. Would really give it a "Star Wars" feel. Almost like the opening of A New Hope. Great stuff.

Just relax and give some time, a lot of things are on way. Do you think SWG: An Empire Different was any different at start?

And wow they are reducing PvP damage by 25% .. so what.. now you can kill someone in 1.5 shots?

Something that has been bugging me alot so far is the complete non-existance of space mission terminals, An easy implementation of that would be for the Imp/Rebel space stations to give missions that pay money and FP.
