Thread: Docking mission question

Maybe one of you further along can help me. I was given a mission to intercept a shuttle that had info on it. I was supposed to inspect it and then dock with it and get that info. Well, I can inspect it, but it won't let me dock with it. I tried about 6 different times/ways and I never could get it to work. I returned to the ground and was told I had failed. Can anyone tell me why it's not working?

Sneaky,

Have you disabled the shuttle? You need to target a ship component, I think the reactor or engines work. Blast them down to zero percent. Then inspect, then dock. I have tried docking but forgot to inspect and I don't think that worked either.

How do you target specific items? If that is a skill, I don't have it yet. I thought if I took out their shields, I could dock but I couldn't do it then either.

use the [ and ] keys to cycle through items that you can disable... on some ships it will be only the engines or reactor on others there will be choices of the weapons as well.

Yeah I learned a lot of new stuff last night. Get teamspeak Sneaky!

G - shows the groups of your weapons, you can assign and remove guns from group to group

V- shows your ship and lets you examine each component while in space

Also, the specials for each profession, I have never used them, but now have them mapped to the Function keys.

For rebel we get emergency shields and repair....

LOL I didn't know those either! I guess I should have acutally looked at the manual. I did have my special on my toolbar but it can't hurt to map them to the keyboard as well. I've been trying to figure out how to bind the specials to my joystick. That would be cool.
