this is to sharkboy, come back after you've flown an X-Wing m8. Dunno if you ever tried running 3 weapons from one capacitor but the fall in its energy goes QUICKLY. I used to use 2 blasters around 2400 max damage that whacked off to 24.0 per gun for everytime it fired....even with a capacitor of like 1000 and a recharge rate of 37.7 I used to get stuck on the bigger ships because i would use my capacitor on kickin' their butts early on but when i got hounded i couldnt shoot or even give the shield jump start to a friend either. It was only at the time i was actually using 16.0 energy for each of my guns and around 2586 max damage that i can start dealing out of the big buns.
The Tie Interceptor sounds alot like the A-Wing, the a-wing has about 60-65k Mass and theres no way in hell i can fit my X-Wing gear in there thats for sure so i do feel for ya on that one but you gotta weigh up the pro's and con's on your ships. I'm assuming because of the Interceptors lack of mass its fairly maneouverable or however its spelt....just like the A-Wing.
You're missing my point. My point is that the X-wing has 100k mass, twice that of the interceptor, and has slots for THREE projectile weapons to the interceptors ONE, and TWO missle slots to the interceptors ONE. I'm pretty sure no one is running 3 weapons, as that would be an incredible drain on the capacitor, as you pointed out. However, you DO get more mass to work with, which increases what you can work with.
The bottom line is that MASS makes the difference here. If we could get the Interceptor at least up to the mass of the A-wing, that would at least be helpful ![]()

"I REALLY hate missions where I have to group in order to advance my skills"
u just said it..this is multiplayer online game...u dont find grouping fun? try kotor or some other games on consoles..
Multiplayer == more players in a game instead of only you, multiplayer does not equal "group to advance"..No profession in SWG needs a group to advance except pilot..And if it was ment to be done in groups whycan't weall take the same mission and get the reward?? (only the corvette can be done in a group and make master) Now we are forced to redo the mission(s) with everybody who helped you..

Anarchy Online. STill there, and alot bigger than you'd think. I think there up to 3 expansions now?
Asheron's Call. Still going strong, with an expansion on the way.
Eve Online Going strong.
Earth and Beyond. Electronics Arts... nuff said.
You can fit yourself into "Thou shalt group" paradigm all you want, but the reality is, most people do NOT like it. The reality is, Forced grouping is a lame mechanic to encourage player interaction. Incase you havent figured it out, theres more ways to get players to interact then forcing them to group. Lastly, forcing people to group, is having your playtime dictated by the whims of other people, and that is complete and utter bovine scats.
Besides, you think im some newbie to MMORPGS?
Ever hear of Meridian 59? I have about 1.5 years on that one, first MMO in my book, predates UO.
How about UO? hell i forgot all about that one, hey you know what, its STILL THERE, and people play it. No forced grouping there. Heck, i beta'ed that game.
Everquest: lvl 53 Ranger
Asherons Call, have serveral toons there
AC2 = yup, played it.
Earth And beyond, had a level 148 Progen Warrior there
Dark Age of Camelot: lvl 48 paladin, lvl 43 Hero, lvl 30 Thane
Anarchy Online , 130ish Soldier
DO i need to keep listing my MMO Rapsheet? I think ive played about all of them. Forced grouping SUCKS. Period. No argument you could ever concieve would convince me otherwise. Ive been around the block entirely too many times, you can't BS me about it.

Ummm what the hell do you think you're playing? Its called a MMORPG. if you dont think you should group go play X-Wing Vs TIE Fighter, you compairing a MMORPG to another MMORPG and then complain about grouping is about retarded.
Ducimus wrote:
Don't even give me the "thou shalt group" garbage either. If i wanted to be forced into grouping, id play everquest.
No, whats retarded is having to rely on others for things you need to get done. THAT is retarted.
DO you have any idea what its like to be unable to advance your character because you have to rely on other people who seriously, do not give a crap?
I pay 15 clams a month to play, I do not have the massive about of freetime to network connections or stand around spamming LFG!!!! Bottom line, my playtime is my time, and should not be dictated by the whims of other people. And that, is what is retarted about forced grouping.
And BTW, the genere of MMORPG does not default to mandatory grouping. Other MMORPGs that you are not forced to group are: Anarchy Online, Asheron's Call, Earth and Beyond (RIP), Eve online, etc etc.
So, we can take your MMORPG = grouping comments and toss them aside, they have no substance.
Wow... Massively Multiplayer Online... SWG's focus is community... which means.. *GASP* people!! Let's see... I'm married. I work 50 hours a week in the marketing department for a software company, I play Tennis, I take care of my dog, I log on to the servers on average... 3 nights a week for a couple of hours at a time.
Not only can I get a group together in under 10 minutes, I have fun chattin' with the folks. Why? Oh.. I don't know.. cause it's an MMO!!!! And yes, that means to get to some content, you NEED AND SHOULD RELY on other players. UO, EQ seem to know this and after all, they're only the two most successful and still running MMOs out there. Don't wanna group? then ya don't get to do certain things. You pay $15? woopty damn do, so does everyone else. Glad your $'s are more important then mine.
I would also like to note that MOST everyone's favorite story/memory of SWG usually entails being with others. Not only that, the SWG exodus is occurring mainly cause everything in the game is soloable and everyone is bored.
Suck it up, meet some folks and try flyin' in group formations. They're in absolute blast, even when you're with strangers. Ever heard of PAs? makes finding wingmates a heck of a lot faster.
Honestly, why are you spending $15/month on a game for a single player experience when you can likely get a better single player experience out of games like KOTOR?
I should know better by now.
