I'd rather have a TIE fighter varient than a Y-wing. At 2/2/2/2 rebel pilot and I get stuck in the space donut of doom from enemy npcs. Y-wings have some of the worst turning radius of most of all the star fighters out there. I got farther using my headhunter in lvl 2 gear than my Y-wing in lvl 5 gear. BTW... those A.I. could shoot a fly off a horse's arse from 2,000 meters.. I have also noticed that some of these NPCs can shift themselves while in mid flight to shoot you and still keep moving in their original direction.

Cry4Dawn, have you tried the TIE Bomber yet? Try it, fill it up with missiles. It wont be as fast or nimble as the Interceptor but you will be able to hit harder.

Actually, the X-Wing is double the mass and triple the weapons of the Tie-Interceptor - it has 3 beam weapons.

The Tie-Interceptor is tight and handles great, but it's one weapon and low mass will most likely disqualify it as a candidate for final ship when your grind is done (unlike the X-Wing).

The Tie-Advance is a little more workable with 2 beam weapons and 65k mass, but it's performance characteristics at high speeds are not as good as the Interceptor.

If the Interceptor were to take on the mass of the Advance (or even a little more) and have the option for a second beam weapon it would most likely qualify as one of the top candidates for an everyday post-master ship for me.

lol, ya. Everyone should have most of their ships over 100k mass imo. Every ships should be useful throughout the game and the fact that ONLY the rebels are like that is completely idiotic.

Plus the fact that their missions are beatable, i mean the Tier 4 RSF mission2 is bugged and can't even be beaten.

It's kinda sad to see this thread derailing to a x wing vs tie interceptor discussion.

Fact is that the Storm Squad Tier3 mission difficulty is way out of balance, because there are to many factors deciding the outcomme that are not in the players hand.

I have tried it5 times now, once solo then grouped and we never could complete it.

1. Solo. I get owned. (ok to be expected in a group mission)

2. Group of 3. After like 1h the server goes down, all progress made so far is lost.

3. Group of 2. After like 45 min my client crashes. result see point 2.

4. Group of 4. After like 30 min the entire party goes LD. Zone crash or server outage ? who knows ? result see point 2.

5. Group with a higher level player. After like 60 min we get owned by non mission adds.

It is insane to put such a long mission ( 60 to 90 minutes) without backup points.

Not everybody has such a stable connection, not everybody can commit 90 minutes of uninterrupted playtime, and the worst part is that SoE's client is not that stable, not to mention the bugs that occured to many players during that mission.

I helped other playerson the missions they had, be it neutral players or imperials from other squadrons, and they all seem to have a progress backup system in form of having to jump to another system to complete the next step. I fail to see why this cant be done here.

Honestly, if the devs were to give actual game design a go they would scale the difficulty. It's not about someone being better or more "l33t", it's about paying good money to them so that we ALL can have fun.

I was pretty excited about JTL infact it brought me back to SWG after being away for a few months. After playing JTL for a bit now I can honestly say it is driving me away from swgagain. I do not ever want to be forced to group in order to level. This was a very bad idea. I wouldn't mind grouping in order to get a badge or go on some quest but to level its just wrong. I dont like having to travel 10000 meters round trip just to get a mission and die. Then i have to make that 10000 meter trip all over again. What the devs were thinking I just dont know. Missions should be something that a player chooses to do. Not something that is forced on them. The more you make me do something the less I want to do it. I understand it is a MMORPG and yes I know what those letters stand for. However has it ever occured to the devs that some people like to play this game solo? I pay just like everyone else and if I dont want to interact why should I be forced to in order to level? Could you imagine if ever profession was like this? If you couldn't master Swordsman with out a group. People would be outraged. This is no different to me. It is a profession and I want to do it alone. I am not allowed to. This being the case I have no interest in JTL at all and seriously regret buying it. Its to bad that something I did really enjoy has now pushed me away.

Used to be that way, dont know how long you played but I rememeber being in groups of 10-20 just to kill Fambas and Pekos, used to be there was no real armor but bone and guns sucked. but as you got futher Buffs cameand things got better and parts and resources got better now people can go out and solo stuff. same thigns applies here. as you grind some solo things you will get better gear and that gear may help you in progressing farther.

I personally think JTL has made this game alot better, sure it has its hard parts, but then again what game doesnt?, even one player games have those parts that feel like they are impossable.

I believe that every game can be done totally solo, all it takes is a matter of understanding the games physics.

Unfortunatly some people dont like to work hard for something, they much rather be done with it, I think its nice that its hard to do some quests in this game, it gives you something to do, cuz once your all done there isnt much left is there??

So, live with what we have for now, dont take this stuff to seriously, remember that each mission has its workarounds and that you may have to take time to understand them, and most of all remember that its just a game.

I am not trying to flame just be helpful, but you don't have to do this mate. If you get a mission waypoint say 10 - 15k away from where you are, you can goto your navmap (n), and find a hyperspace jump point, that will bring you closer, usually with in 5k, (one timeI gotas close as 1k) of your target waypoint. I am doing trainer missions out of Lok atm, and the Lurid Dawn jumppoint, is less thank 5k away from the station, this is where I run to when I get into trouble, or finish a mission and have to return.
