Something that just occured to me. If armor and shields are basically worthless in PVP the Imperial may have the last laugh. We can put in basic hardware and a kick @$$ blaster in a Tie/In or even a Tie fighter and go smoke ppl in master level ships! LOL. I wouldn't mind dieing if I was only in a tie/in with disposable parts and such!

Well I want to chime in to an obvious fix of the 1-2 shot player kills. NO its not damage reduction, I hate that in the ground game and I dont want it in JTL.

I see two solutions; (if anyone agrees pls chime in!)

1.

The Shiled efficiency has to climb WAY up to take a few hits, and armor should do the same. I know at lower levels it isfine, but when you have blasters doing 3-4K the shield should be at 4-8K. (especially with missles topping out at 10-16K)

2. The higher end ships like the B-wing, nova, Decimator, etc (master level stuff) should have a multiplyer to the armor and shields placed on the ship to allow for the larger capacity and or armor. Kinda like the pitch roll ad Yaw automatically get less as you get a bigger ship. (OR they could be smart and just make the 8K+ shiled generators so friggin big only the big ships can have them)

Nah people just want a chance to live. People need to know its the NPC's who are borked, PvP is exactly as it should be in relations to the movies. 1,2, or 3 hit kills. Do you remember Vader's TIE in Ep. 4 Flying around shooting off Engines then stopping then blasting the poor X-Wing in the back 15 times till his Chassis gave up and blew up? Didn't think so. But do you remember Vader flying around and the X-Wing Pilot is going "Get this guy off me!" and then getting turned into a pile of smoldering ashes in mere seconds. Yeahhha we all know those Death Star Battles were the best part of those movies.

You have to understand two things if you're going to use Episode 4 as the basis for the two-shot kill.

1) Especially in the trench, most of the ships had their shield power maxed forward, leaving their back wide open for attack. As it stands now in PvE, if a Rebel puts uses his extreme forward shield reinforcement, you can expect the same treatment when going up againt a Tier 5 ship.

2) Don't forget film and television conventions. You only see what happens that's important, not most of the events leading up to it. We don't stay focused on a single one of those Rebel craft during the duration of the Battle of Yavin 4, and you'd need a pretty big leap of faith to believe that those ships haven't been knocked up by turbolaser fire from the Deathstar or from blaster fire coming from the TIEs around them. In film, they're not going to show you all the hits that weaken that poor pilot's shields... they're going to show you the last pair that lights him ablaze.

If you're going to quote film as the basis for your arguement, at least accurately play out the scenario in your mind beforehand. This is a sci-fi / action / adventure movie, not a documentary on starfighter combat and how to blow up the Deathstar... andas such, the audience wants to see things blow up, not necessarily the realism of it.Granted, we don't have the History Channel equivilant to compare, but take everything you see on screen with a grain of salt.

No, it wasn't anything reverse engineered. I haven't gotten around to reverse engineering any of my componentry quite yet. The way I put out that kind of firepower, as I explained previously, is quite simple.

The TIE Advanced has two projectile slots. I've loaded mine with a pair of ~2k-3k guns. This was at the expense of having a booster or any missile weapons in my Advanced, but since I cruise at 1200+ I don't miss the booster all that much.

Furthermore, I run my Advanced with one flavor or another of Weapon Overload on most of the time. I don't know the exact modifier it provides, but since every volley from me is automaticallyat least4k-ish even before we discuss Weapon Overload, we can see where the massive damage in PvP comes from.

I've taken to /telling people while I'm in Kessel and Deep Space and warning them that if they get within 750m of me I will turn about and blast them, otherwise I will leave them alone. I'm out in those places trying to get the loot, trying to scout out the Corvette, andhelping guildies with their 30 kills missions.I'm trying to not engage in PvP if I can help it, butthe Forcehelp whatever Rebel player thinks I'm kidding. Just because I don't agree with how I can dish out damage doesn't mean I won't if they press me to it.

Sheesh, sounds like I need to hang out in Omen more often. haha. I hit a wall at 3,3,3,3. Some Tie Aggressor keeps waxing me. Guess I need to move up and out of my Kimo. I just hate the looks of the tier 4 and 5 ships... *sigh*
