JTL is an MMO!! hello, it might need you to group. OMG.. i have to deal with others. Why play an MMO and be a solo person the whole time? I understand the desire to go hunt by yourself, but everything should NOT BE SOLOABLE!!!
Yep. I can see now that there's going to be alot of unhappy people when they implement the combat upgrade. There will be alot of unsoloable things in the ground game after that. Like soloing rancors? Not anymore. (As it should be. The jedi Luke had a very hard time soloing one. Almost died.)
Things should not be soloable, plain and simple.

We have been doing all different types of missons the last couple days. Mainly Storm Squadron, some black Eplison. I couldnt do my misson alone like alot of ppl, so i got some ppl together. Most ppl seem to be storm squad, have had the same 6-11 ppl showing up every night. We are very successful, take turns doing misssons for ppl and everyone is getting stuff done. We have at least 4 at all times and somtimes up to 11 at once, can run 2 or 3 different missons at once. Last night we completed 8 tier 3 or 4 misssons, where 6 of those were endor missons form storm squadron.
Just take names of some ppl, put on buddy list and set it up, we have our own little group of ppl that seems to come on at the same time every day. Working really good atm.

Just some pointers for the people complaining about Tier 3 (yes, it is pretty evil) of Storm squad.
First, Tier 3, starts rough but gets better. I needed some help for 3322, but after that, the rest I could solo the rest of Tier 3 without too much trouble. As for, the first two parts of Tier 3, don't be scared when you see people mention that you need a group... I found that have just 1 person help me was enough to get past these with a minimum of difficulty - one other person can make a whole world of difference.
As for the Tie-Interceptor sucking over the Tie-In there are a few things that can account for this. First, the Tie-Interceptor is a high speed ship. That means that its performance really sucks in the lower to mid areas of the speed spectrum. The Tie-In is a lower performance ship and works much better in the mid range than the Tie-Interceptor. I put a 930 speed engine in my interceptor and found that it's optimal performance zone was in the high 800's. When I dropped under that, it started handling very poorly.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you're Tie-In in 3222 is handling much different mobs in 3322. If I remember correctly, the zillion mobs in 3222 were mostly Tier 3 spawns. When I hit 3322 I was facing a mix of Tier 3 and Tier 4 spawns. Tier 4 spawns are way more evil than the Tier 3's - they're faster, have more hp, are more meneuverable, and dish out more damage.
Generally, when going up in skill, it's better to pick the weapon line over the chassis line first. The exception to this rule is Tier 4. That's when I picked chassis first, because the Tier 4 weapons are just way too huge for me to fit into a space superiority fighter - they're more cargo / bomber / large ship type weapons.
Keep your hope up pilots! Storm squadron does get a lot nicer to you as you move on. 3332 is pretty hard, but soloable if you're careful. 3333, 4333, 4433, and 4443 are soloable and are much easier than the previous missions. Not sure about 4444 yet, but I'll most likely find out tonight when I give it a try.
Keep trying and don't give up... you're almost out of the storm (no pun intended)!

What many of you need to realize is that JTL is not SWG... in the sense of being able to form "solo groups" of 20 players just to get a mission hard enough to be worth while. SWG combat is unbalanced. JTL might be hard at times, but it is not supposed to be easy like SWG combat.

While I do agree with the point, it wouldn't be hard to defeat a rancor with a good blaster at your side. Couple of well placed shots and the beast would fall.

Im gonna join in the teir 3 is way to freaking hard chourus.
wave after wave after wave after wave and it they get harder and harder and harder and harder.
Disableing ships only gets you so far. When your slammed with 8 Teir 4's at once, theres not much you can do.
Don't even give me the "thou shalt group" garbage either. If i wanted to be forced into grouping, id play everquest.

Would someone PLEASE get CryMeARiver a blue frog?
Seriously, would JTL be any better if they made it easier? They have yet to add any post-grind pilot content, so I'm already dreading having nothing to do once I get master pilot on my three toons. ENJOY IT WHILE YOU CAN! Just because you don't get a mission completed with no damage and no help from anyone doesn't mean it will be any more fun. As a matter of fact, on my privateer tier 3 mission 3 I asked my guildies to help, expecting a thorough trouncing, and it was disappointingly short. Sure I finished the mission and got my box, but I got no satisfaction whatsoever out of it for its challange.
P.S. As mentioned endlessly, this is a MULTIPLAYER game. This isn't just some feel good concept, but smart playing. THAT'S why you are paying 500k for a ship chassis instead of teaming up with friends to work out a deal on one, or as my guildmates so kindly did, give you one. And all I've done is a little negotiating and socialising. If those two concepts give you pause, you shouldn't be paying $14 a month for the pleasure of avoiding them.

Yes, they will add content, I'm sure of it. But as you say, it will take some time and hopefully seeing how smoothly things have gone so far it won't be that much time.

Actually I love my ywing, you need to cut power to like 1/3 power and your turning radius becomes 1000 times quicker....
