I don't play on a Euro server, I play on a launch server, where I'm going to be behind by as much as 10 days, so yup the plan for me to be shipwright for my guildies has just flown out of the window. And as for space combat if you don't hit the air at the same time as everyone else how do you keep up?
It doesn't matter if the distributors have dropped the ball or if SOE are responsible, what matters is that once again communications are non-existant and/or worthless. Same old same old.
Bet they wont delay the activation to ensure a level playing field!
Oh and I also bet we'll not see any official posts about this.

This makes the BIG assumption that we all play on the Euro servers! All of my friends and colleagues play on Naritus, so that is where I play as well. I have built up a number of good friendships with US players on that server as well. I am not prepared to switch servers for this and try to grind out a position to start as shipwright in the next 24 hours.

Thought I would let you know that have again attempted to order stock from Activision and they are still insisting that the release date is Friday 12th in UK.
For what its worth my US stock turned up last Thursday and JTL is great fun

People say that these companies only favour the US market, well they are technically bigger (in the market sense) and alot bigger population for them to sink their vampire teeth into.
And with this flash speeder malarky, from what i heard it's slower than all of the other speeders so to be honest i don't think the UK market missed alot out there. All of the US customers think that if we all cancel subscription that SOE can just shrug it off, to be honest that is still alot of income to suddenly go. Another reason to why europe dosent get said offers is usually because distribution in our little continent arnt done by Lucasarts, but sub-contracted to another company, this then usually means it is at their discrestion to UK market and wether or not to do these offers.
Now i've said this many a time but Activision usually do poorly in UK sales for Star Wars games, so it's either they didnt expect such a high demand and are producing others, possible market push outs (i.e. San Andreas) or theres some other reasons.
To be honest this is all speculation and i think we should lay the issue to rest. We have 3 more days to see what happens and wether or not it gets held back again, and don't hold your breath.
I got in contact with gameplay who i ordered my copy from and they where just told by activision to not sell or distribute it until the 12th september.
My speculation is simply the fact that San Andreas was a highly anticipated games and a sales success is dependant on it's first weekend, and saying that it quit frankly wouldnt of lasted against San Andreas.
But saying that, everquest 2 is being released on that same day, so it's hard to say whats gonna happen. But the words oh well come to my British brain.
We're just gonna have to get to master quickly and show the American l33t k1dd135 or whatever the hell they are called, make them cry and blow them out the sky.
Can i think of anything more to say? Nope thank god!

While the Flash Speeder IS a pile of crap, it's not the point - the point is that we don't have the option. It's not activision or LucasArts or even SOEs problem though - it was only 2 companies in the States who offered it, therefore the Speeder is GAME/Amazon/Play.com etc's problem, as for the release date, you're probably right about competing with San Andreas but nevertheless, people who would buy it on it's first day will still buy it on it's first day, no matter what else is out there and if they can't afford it when 2 games come out they want then they'll buy it later, the only difference is that by releasing it early, they don't p*** people off and they start getting the money earlier, but since when have big businesses ever had the intelligence that they believe themselves to have?

Hahaha Banzai. I would love to find the guy that made the delay desision and ginsue his butt.
On the note of sales conflict with San Andreas.... You gotta be kidding me two different platforms and two totaly different markets. They know that MMORPG players are usualy dedicated to a few games and most MMORPG players will get the expansion asap regardless of what else is out simply to keep up with the other players look at how fast EQ expansions have sold in the past in relation to the actual player base it's somewhere around 70-80% of regular players getting expansion with in first month with the casual gamers picking up within 2-3 months and new players will be tempted by the "double pack effect"
I know SA will be a hugely popular game (600,000 copies sold in UK 1st week) but denieing players their expansion based on conflicting release dates is pretty weak defence. At the end of the day if some one is a fan of the game they are gonna get the expansion weather it be on the 27th of october or the 24th of december but there is no need considering GTA:SA was released in USA same time
