Mission 1 on Tier 3 for the Storm Trooper Squadon takes about 90 mins to do and you have to do it in a group. I must say that really upsets me. No mission should take this long to do and the chance of failure is so high, that if you do fail you probably wont want to do it again. Now whats pissing me off even more is that simple fact that I am finally 3-2-2-2 and got my cool Tie Interceptor, and I am dieing more now and faster now then I was when I had my Crappy Tie/In with the same parts.. W-T-F is going on with this game???? I use to be able to rip up B-wings in my old ship, now I am luck if I can beat one..
Lets put it out to be heard here people.. I REALLY hate missions where I have to group in order to advance my skills. I have NEVER done any of the major missions like the Corvette, or DWB because of how insanely hard it is. I dont find facing odds that one person cant beat FUN!!!!! I really cant stand it.
This game makes no sense.. When your Tier 1 you make no money and its hard to survive.. Once you get 2-2-1-1 you start to say HEY I can finally beat a few things. But by the time your 2-2-2-2 and you start tier 3 missions you are more weak then you were at 0-0-0-0.....
I am just not digging this whole group thing just to advance my levels. I am really not digging how you have to do missions in order to train.
There is nothing fun about spending 500K on a Tie Interceptor or whatever the price is to have it trashed 1 hr later and buy another one because you cant survive a single mission. Screw the combat Revamp, how about fixing JTL so its playable.......

Unfortunately its because you joined storm squadron. Their tier 3 missions are by far the hardest of ant imp squadron, and if these boards are anything to go by, and faction for tier 3. Its not uncommon for groups of 4-5 to fail on these I am afraid. If you can't get a large group of 8-10 people to donate 2 hours of their time for each one I suggest you start over with another squad. Its not ideal but you could get past your current block in a couplr of days.

Hell I am about to drop imps all together and got rebel just so I can have fun in space :/

this game is WAY TOO hard. I was one of the best online pilots on zone.com for atleast a year with xwing alliance. But there they just give you a ship and say here go fly. Im so confused with all the droids and components thats what makes it so hard. if i could get a good ship with good compoents id be fine but right now i cant play this game.

I am just starting the Endor quests.... where u gotta escort the ship

IMPOSSABLE TO DO SOLO!!! lol

I swear, I looked ahead and there were like 20 tier 3 ships headin right at me and those things dont go down so fast when ur 2,2,2,2 lol

I mean, the only reason i lost was because I got to far away from the escourt, but its hard to get close when there are sooooo many ships firing at ur ass!! lol

I just hope they make it atleast alittle easyer, These missions should be soloable if you use some good tactics

What I dont get is now I am 3-2-2-2 and the second misson on Tier 3 I dont even last 45 secs against 3 rebel ships. Its like all tier 4 ships to me now are uber hard, yet last mission I was wipping up 20 of them. How in the hell could this have changed by me advancing a level. I was taking out 15 Xwings by myself, now I cant take out 1???? I have gone back to my Tie/In and it does not good. I cant get a break on this lousy mission. I really hate to do it but I am gonna have to spam to get groups to pass a level..

If u like i could help u out alittle.....

Im not the best pilot i bet, but its better than nuthin huh? lol

I solo'd the first two Storm Squadron tier 3 missions (seriously). Hope some advice helps others so here it is.

Did the first mission (the Endor escort) with a TIE/IN that had a 1287 max damage blaster (looted),890 shields, 400/400 front and rear armor, and an engine w/ a top speed of 67.x. I also used a flight computer with the command that enhances your engine performance. You just have to use the command once and it will last forever. Added about +100 to my top speed.

Now here's some tips for the missions:

1) Always just disable your targets. Hit '[' or ']' to target the reactor and just disable the ships. Screw XP and loot. You want to finish the mission.

2) Practice a few times how to bring up your hyperspace map and how to select a jump point while still flying at top speed and taking evasive action. You will want to use the D435 jump point in the Endor system because it's closest to Endor space station where you can get repairs.

3) Related to 2) . DoNOT hyper to D435 on the 1st part of the Endor mission (1st escort). The mission will fail because it seems like staying close to the engineer ship is required. Do hyper to D435 (or just fly to Endor space station)after you get the success message for the 1st part. You will most likely need repairs since those waves of fighters can be tough if they come in quickly after another.

4) Also related to the above. You can safely hyper out (to D435)on the 4th and most difficult part of the mission where you have to first dock and repair and thenescort the freighter. Hint for this part: Rush in with boosters and dock ASAP. Totally ignore any fighters. You will take some shield damage but the AI doesn't seem to be very good when it comes to shooting at a non-moving target. As soon as you undock, engage fighters to keep them busy. Especially B-Wings or Y-Wings since those have missiles that can hurt the freighter. Try to stay around as long as possible. This will be hard because of the damn level 4 Pirates. Anyway, just try to hang in there for some time until your shields and armor are almost gone. Then hyper to D435. The freighter is a great tank. It won't get shot down that easily. Get repairs at Endor space station and fly back. You will most likely get the mission successful message somewhere on the way. If not, repeat the above and try to distract the fighters. It's unlikely that you will need to do it though since this part of the mission is very short (but also very hard).

5) Now some specific hints for the parts of the Endor escort mission:

- Part 1 (escort transport): When the transport pops up out of hyperspace, fly to a position behind and above the transport and sit there with your speed at around 130. Fighters will always spawn in front of the transport. Speed up to full speed when they come in and fly right by the X-Wings/A-Wings. You will want to focus on disabling the Y-Wings first in every wave. Y-Wings can be slow turning so make sure to watch your back shields. If something starts shooting you from behind then evade. Don't sit there and let them take out your shields. Instead turn and try to get a new angle on the Y-Wing.

Also, pay close attention to your on-screen messages. The transport will say you're too far out at times. Hit your boosters and try to catch up with the transport even if you are engaged with a fighter. Staying close to the transport seems to be vital for the success of the first part of the mission.

- Part 2 (recapture transport): Use the rushing technique. Don't worry about any fighters. Just rush in, disable the transport and /dock. Then engage any enemies (not too hard in this part).

- Part 3 (inspect Recon A-Wing): Well, easiest part of the mission. Can't fail .

- Part 4 (freighter dock & repair): Hardest part of the mission because of static tier 4 spawns (Pirates in Z95s). Look under 4) above where I already gave some hints. Rush in and /dock first. Then take on the enemy for as long as possibleand hyper out (to D435)no matter what before they can kill you. The freighter can survive on its own just fine. Just don't let them kill you.

- Part 5: Very easy. You just have to /dock with a Lamda shuttle. There was no enemy resistance at all when I did it.

6) The second tier 3 mission is a little easier. Again, your best friend is hyper point D435. Use it to get repairs when you get shot up. The hardest part of this mission is when you have to support that TIE squadron since there will be a Nova Cruiser that hits very hard. Try to avoid the ship by kiting your enemies away from the cruiser, i.e. engage and thenhit boosters to pull the fighters away from the cruiser. If that doesn't work, focus on taking out the cruiser first. I disabled it by shooting its reactor. I'm not sure if you can target the cruiser's weapons. That might make this part of the mission a lot easier. If it's possible, then take out the cruiser's guns. No kiting needed then.

Hope that helps .

This has been said before, if you want to solo 100% of the time, go play a single player RPG. They are more fun and designed for single player. This is a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER. The devs have designed this game so that you have to group to truely enjoy the game. Just wait until the combat upgrade. It sounds like grouping will be more required then ever, but having a dispersion of proffesions will give a group an advantage.

@ Thread Starter.

Tier 3,4,5 are meant to be group missions.

There are actually some easy Tier 3 missions for the Inqusition and a Tier 4 mission that takes 5 Minutes, but overall said (especially for storm squad) all Missions above tier 3 arent soloable until you got an A-wing/Interceptor with a 1.8k Shields and a 2.6k Dmg Weapon.

You hate a game because its too hard? Stange person. I love a challenge and the missions are certainly not so hard that you can't complete them. Solo play and group play is provided here, so maybe you should get some friends in game and try it then, you'll glide right through.

No what I said is I dont enjoy a game where I last 2 secs in a battle when I am evenly matched with the same ships that I just lasted 90 mins attacking yesterday with the same parts, and today I cant even take down a single ship. Thats what doesnt make sense to me

You know, perhaps I'm different from most, but i stopped reading after about 10 posts.

To the original poster. To be honest, I completely disagree with you on all your points. I'm currently 4-4-4-3.

To get past my Tier 3 missions, I called in back up. I absolutely loved the fact I had to get friends to group with me to complete my missions. I think the length is fine. Y'all are complaining that it's taking 90 minutes to complete?! please, the last Village missions took me 3 hours with friends, and the ones before that forced me to complete over multiple DAYS!

JTL is an MMO!! hello, it might need you to group. OMG.. i have to deal with others. Why play an MMO and be a solo person the whole time? I understand the desire to go hunt by yourself, but everything should NOT BE SOLOABLE!!!

sorry, i'm just gonna say that. The whole, make it soloable argument is lost on me and is one reason why SWG has soo many problems. Cause almost everything in the game can be completed by 1 person. Screw that, gimme a challenge where i can hook up withn7 other folks and get my nose bloodied. Makes the interactions and accomplishments more gratifying cause you're getting to share 'em with other folks.

If you can't find people to help you complete these missions, then you must be doing something wrong. hell, i've helped out several different STRANGERS cause they asked for some help.

As for the folks makin' the rebel comments. lol. you guys are funny.
