Putting it down to a level of 25% creates as many problems as it solves. The person in a fast ship such as an a-wing thats hard to score a hit on already is that much harder to stop for the person floating along in a bomber.
And the fast movers can have plenty of defense let me tell you. My tie adv has 1700hp shields with a 11.0 recharge rate in a lvl 7 generator. I had 2 a-wings attack me with that generator and one scored a missile hit that i survived.
Starting out by lowering it 25% is a cautious step that i agree with.

I'm betting my 2 million spacebucks that the damage will be lowered to a rate where shields will recharge faster than you can damage them. Just like buffs in the ground game.

One thing i'd ask people is are they complaining about the damage having tried it or having had a friend tell you it's too high. I had several people tell me that the damage was absolutely over the top crazy, but having tried it first hand i don't thing a massive nerf is what is needed.

I think scaling up the defense rates of the realy heavy shields a bit is what is needed, combined with a minor pvp damage reduction. To make the mulitplay craft seem tougher and the fighters remain feeling flimsy like they do now.

Totally agree... my A-Wing is loaded to the gills, but doesn't have anything higher than level 6 components, is hard to hit but falls apart when it does get hit. I've had to RE components left right and centre to get my energy/wieght requirements down to the point where I can just about use a lvl 1 lootedreactor and forgo the extreme defenses of player crafted armour/shields. I'm hard to hit but flimsy. I know my friends who are in X-Wings have a different issue... they can survive more hits but they are easier to hit and slower. Given that knowledge - most everything is in a certain sense of balance. PvP is quick and brutal. Yes - decay needs to be removed/lowered in PvP. PvP is also now fun.

On a secondary note - the game was meant to be quite a heavy PvP game. I mean SWG in total. We have two sides at war with each other.
