If you ask me, it's not that the NPC pilots never miss, it's just that they don't fire on you until they're assured a hit. They don't seem to hit me an excessive amount, but I would like to see more blaster fire flying to and fro from the occasional miss. As someone put it in another thread, "I miss the spray and pray dogfighting from the movies."

Yeah I agree with this. I was playing some Freelancer the other day and had to pilot a Humpback freighter (really crappy for combat, but can haul a ton of cargo) through Outcast territory on a trade route, and of course I ran into a wing of enemies piloting Sabres (very heavy fighters, one of the best in the game). So obviously I had no chance at all and had to simply run for it and pray I could get my cruise engines online before they had a chance to fire off a few disruptor missiles to knock my cruise engines offline. Now I'll be honest with you, running trade routes is easy money even thoughit's also pretty boring most of the time, but when you're carrying a load of expensive cardamine with a pack of high level enemies on your tail that you know can waste you in just a few well placed shots your blood really gets pumping. When you see dozens of tachion bolts streak past your ship as you frantically duck and weave knowing that if you stop for even a second you're a goner it really kicks up the tension. Especially when you're watching your cruise engine capacitor slowly creep up to 100% spraying chaff everywhere to avoid disruptor missiles since it's basically your only way out of the area alive.

Anyway, my point is that it would really help the evasive feeling if they lowered the accuracy of enemies but also increased their fire rate. This wouldn't really make enemies easier on you, but it would boost the drama of making a run for it. After all, part of the excitement of the jango vs obi-wan scene was watching his blasters spraying all over the place trying to hit the nimble little jedi starfighter while obi-wan narrowly escapes every time.

Tie Aggressors are a problem, they prolly have about a 345 degree range of fire. Anyone notice that their turret is WAY more powerfull then their forward firing gun. I'd rather space joust with the punk than tail 'em any day. I'd like to know if NPC's ever run outta capacitor juice, seems to me they fire totally at will. The capacitor is a huge issue for people flyin' a multiplayer ship. I think there should be an accuracy modifier against NPC turrets, it's a lot harder to aim a turret when a ship is doing cartwheels (and you're not piloting) then when the target is right in front of you. I don't have a problem with non-turret NPCs so far as their accuracy goes.

Hey, if anyone has any tips on fightin' them buggers let us know.
