I've been pretty loyal to this game through its ups and downs and watched as it's endured the slings and arrows of outrageous adolescent malcontents. I'm having a great time in space and I still have a pretty decent time on the groun.

However, long term, I mean within a year, if the devs don't add more content to space (capital ships, space stations, potential economic expansions, epic GCW battles) I will definitely get bored and I may quit.

I'm feeling better they're serious about fixing the GCW ground game. In my opinion, they have to integrate space and ground combat. I suggested implementing a planetary airstrike system(bombing from space) but got flamed hard.

Long ago, the devs talked about capital ships (and I think about space stations, though I can't remember for sure). I feel pretty good they'll follow through.

But please don't make me wait another year.

Online combat sims?? - MS Combat flight sim 3 for one, it's not 'massively multi' like SWG but it does support multiplayer wingmen and 'free-for-all's' on LAN and dialup. To be honest JTL rarely has more than 4-5 in a battle anyway, so bar the MP ships what's the difference?

It's the depth of the ground game that I like, and JTL adds (almost) seamless space travel to that. New professions would give it wider appeal (imagine how flat the ground game would be with just brawler and marksman)

what massively multi combat flight sims have you played? i was unaware any save this existed.

Well there's Eve Online. Thats one I know of offhand.

Anyway, I'm glad the ubaleets ground their way to Ace and are leaving. Those are undesirable people anyway. They play to win... at *any* cost, even if you are the casualty. There's others that just like to do their best and enjoy what they're doing. I see those sticking around even after they master. then I see those that enjoy any level they're at, who are more interested in the journey than the destination. they tend to start over should they accidentally reach the top.

I remember watching 2 boys play Mario Brothers. the older one kept doing the next level and opened up more of them as he advanced. When it was the younger one's turn to play, he'd play the same level every time because thats what he had fun doing. He must have played it hundreds of times and it never became boring or tedious. that must have been a wonderful feeling.
