Now the obvious qustion in my mind is, "how the hell can 2 mere "fans" come up with some pretty sound ideas while the people PAID to come up with the ideas come up with such nuggets as forced grouping, stupidly hard missions (go back and do the first hour or two of any low tier mission...they're FUN, at least try to carry it on!) and missions that last 2 hours!" Both of the previous posters have some g0ddamn excellent ideas.

Ideas for an expansion.
1. Put in some new armor and put those God damn capes that are suppose to be there long ago there (sorry loard for saying god damn)
2. Well do what the peeps said about under water cities.
3. Put some flesh eating fish in the water... make fishing intense.
4. Put more planets on the game like mon cal, Kashyyk, and the some other palnets from the SW seires so peeps can go and lag in other places than just naboo, tat, and corellia.
5. Make some better droids (like a droid like the half huamn half droid general Grevious) or those droidekas for players to have.
6. New weapons... like a repeatting rifle, Missle (improve the rocket launcher!) and a shotgun looking weapon
7.Let peeps dive into the water like the DAoC ex: Trials of atlantist
8. Submarine kinda vehicles
9. new swoops and land speeders (maybe even put pod racers)
10. Allow us to wear our helmets and hoods at the same time (like reaven from KOTOR)
11. MAke weapons for BH's that make them a worthy opponenet to jedis in stead of having them in big a$$ groups
12. Personal Capitol ships or making them dock able and letting us explore the inside of one
13. Allow NPCs to attack big cities when they feel like it. (droid army or somthing like that)
well thats all i can think of... for now...
A good suit of Comp armor 500k 
A good gun 100k
A Good dunelizard ship 60k
A good droid to help you kill sh1t 50k
Using all this stuff to screw upboth the empire and rebellion... Priceless

I think the Ranger needs some seriuos fixing, whatever the next patch gonna be, they beter get a good look at this.
