I loved using the TIE Defender in the old TIE Fighter games in the PC. And yes I was disappointed that it wasn't put in the game, especially since space continuity was thrown out the window with A-wings, B-wings, and Interceptors being used at this stage of the timeline however I understood that somethings had to be compromised to for some variety of craft to be used. I would rather have recieved the defender instead of the Oppressor as the ship to fly at master but thats my preference.so /sign.

oh and funny thing, Ewings enjoyed Imperial service before serving in the New Republic, its certification could go either way.

To the poster that said YT-1300s should be a rebel craft: Just because a Ex-Smuggler turned Rebel flew one, doesn't mean those things served widely for the Rebellion. I kind of like that its a privateer ship to boost ranks of privateer pilots. Maybe they'll expand on Ships and systems to travel in the nearby future.

Who cares about just the Defender, the Avenger would be great.

Ingame"Tie Advanced" is the X1, Vader's personal prototype which the Intercepter was designed from. Why not take the next step in the evolutionary chain and go to the Tie Advanced aka Tie Avenger?

Wow, this thread sprouted wings.

I'm really not looking for the TIE Defender to be some uber ship that only Imps get. I just think it looks hella cool. The Opressor looks like it's flying backwards to me.

You _have_ read the previous posts I hope? Specifically regarding the timeline and such things as the B-wing?

Experimentals were all destroyed according to XWA. In game you destroy there manufacturing facilities hence stopping further production

TIE Defenders are very cool, but they do not exist yet. They were made well after the current time, after the Empire's limited resources needed to be used more efficiently.
