That's really a very moot point since PvP is being fixed as we speak. Read TH's posts, and the TC patch notes.

Personally I think we should have ranking tables located in the cantina's. Perhaps have one for PvP and a different one forPvE.
Also, allow the kills to decay over time so that the counts don't ever get too big - perhaps the last 6 months worth or something.
Either that or just tally the kills from your last death - you die in space, counter reset to 0 and you have to start over. This will show us the real Aces IMO

There are no "true" Aces when all it really takes is one lucky shot.

That's why I said only have the counter show kills from your last death - that way if you just rely on lucky shots you're not going to be top of the table - whereas if you are really skilled you should be able to avoid the situations that lead to most of those lucky shots...
Of course, from time to time you will get taken out and have to start over, but it keeps the system organic and doesn't favour those who have the time to play all day every day which a continuous count would.

I like the TOPGUN Idea. Perhaps it could be a badge. In the bio not to hard. Perhap Group leader badge Gunner, Imean the possabilities are endless. You have 2 PAX and MP ships. Have badges for them as well. Team work is verry important. but if you get out classed. you lose the badge to a Held topgun. or what ever would sound better.

WOW just had a Great Idea. Have a ACE only event. Only Ace from any faction could enter. Make it a Free for all. Throw NPC and PVP player in this Live event and who ever has the highest Kill count gets the badge. They have to last the whole battle. Once you get shot down you have to start all over on the kill count.
