thing is SOE has nothing to do with the game once it has shipped.
this mess about the UK release is all down to the stupid UK publishers.
canceling your SWG account because of this is a bit extreme.

it's sad when that's the only way to get them to pay attention. It's like the property managment agency I used to rent a flat from.. to get anything fixed we used to have to withhold rent... it just makes the company look like amateurs.
EDIT:
I WANT to play this game. I WANT to have fun as a shipwright selling my wares. The current mess up over release suggests that's unlikely to happen as I'm going to enter a market much closer to saturation (if not there already) from the headstart others have had in this mockery of a worlwide release. Not fun Devs.. not fun
If it's all Activisions fault, perhaps SOE/Lucasarts should be applying leverage or finding a new UK distributor?

Yes, SOE have no control over this.. but lucasarts and activision do. Lucasarts is advertising an october 27th release. No suggestion this was US only. Lucasarts have chosen to use Activision as their UK distributor.. they're a subcontractor.. final responsibility lies with LucasArts. And cancelling subscription hurts SOE yes, but it also hurts lucasarts. I should guess they get a share of the proceeds from subscription.. and even if not it hurts them through bad publicity. SOE are being held ransom somewhat here... they have no control over release, I appreciate that.. but what other way do we neglected UK/Euro players have to protest other than account cancellation?

the tragedy is you really think LucasArts of SOE care if UK gamers cancel their subs in protest, I think its perfectly clear that the only people they have any interest in keeping happy are U.S. gamers. No one, from either company has even made an official statement.
So after releasing JTLS 3 days ahead of the " Similtanous World-Wide Launch" promised at E3,on the 27th, they are now delaying it until Nov 5th-12th, which is unfair, as it give U.S. gamers a near 10+ dayadvantage on everyone else, whats worse Ijustre-subscibed yeasterdayespecially for the launch, so i could geta near solid month of play. So as itsstands I have even less respectfor Activisionthan EA,and thats low already very low!

From the same post.

Have at it with your publishers. Call customer service lines, something. Lucasarts, maybe?I just know that SOE bashing accomplishes nothing.

I've tried contacting lucasarts and activision on the subject of UK release repeatedly... guess what.. nada, zip, nothing, diddly. I appreciate that even if every UK player cancelled none of them would care 1 bit... but if we just suck it up then we're just asking for more of the same.

naplam.. right now I'm not sure I trust any release date I'm seeing on websites. There just seems to be too much confusion, and too many different dates, flying around for any of them to be trustworthy. This game is completed and released after all... I mean some people in the US already have their release, commercial versions. This isn't rocket science (if you'll pardon the pun given the game
). It's finished already.. how hard can it be to state when it will be available?!?!
Perhaps SOE could suggest Lucasarts reconsider an online distribution? I know I'd buy and download if I could!

SOE could always delay the activation of JTLS on the Euro servers until the game is actually released, that way everyone gets to start at the same time.
