Ace isnt anything else than a pilot with 5 confirmed kills...
And from an RP perspective there is no difference in PCs and NPCs, so everyone who did the initial Novice Pilot missions is an Ace...
Please stop with this 5 confirmed kills thing!! Another user mentioned something about old Britian or something.
People, this is Star Wars! Until I see the Emperor or Darth Vader say that their men are not aces until they have "5 confirmed kills", let it rest.

But it's true, your making up a new distinction for the term, your trying to redifine it not us.

Show me where they say it otherwise then? I don't even know what your definition is to tell you the truth, but show me a line in a movie that defines Ace, if not then we can only assume 2 things based on the info we have.
1. Ace = 5 kills
2.Ace is a titel for Master profession so it looks more like a piloting title.

Cool. Drop the term ace, since you're stuck on it, and make it "StarFighter" instead.

Eep. Kessel becomes a PvE zone? I figured the better solution would be to leave it PvP and move the master mission to some other location, like Dathomir or Yavin.
I assume there'll be some other balancing factors in play too. I hope- the one-shot issue is a big one.
that was the best solution. pvpers keep their zone. people who don't want to pvp can get master. everyone wins, no one loses.
now there is one less pvp zone. and the remaining pvp zone costs xp to get in... you are now officially punished for wanting to pvp.
I can see just seea Star Destroyer commander demanding30000xp in order for you to enter a lawless patch of black space

I welcome this change... sorta. I disapprove of players being *forced* into PvP just to complete the last mission. However, I don't totally approve of Kessel going wholly PvE, either.
This solution is a start, but I hope it turns out to be more of a band-aid rather than a cure--sufficient until something superior can be brought to bear.
FWIW, I hate ground PvP, and I can't currently stand up to space PvP (I'm only halfway through tier 1 ATM). However, once I've made master pilot, you better believe that I'll be in for sapce PvP... just not if it's going to be crammed down my throat by the mechanics of the game.

heh, stupid space station chiefs... "hey, there's a battle in deep space... go and help save the pride of the fleet, oh yeh, it'll cost you to help defend the empire."
