Thread: Petition Make Kessel an all PVP zone again

The fact that they needed a fast easy solution for the customers who in point of fact just do not have the skill to defend against more agile younger players, yet still have every right to acess the content they payed for this game expecting to be able to get to. I'm sure once a better solution can be coded kessel will be back to its old self. Open your mind its not about instant gratification for them its about choice. They dont feel they should have to be subjected to player attack in a game where that was never a prerequiste for them before. I agree with them, and yes i can defend myself in pvp and would probably have no trouble doing the mission myself, i dont need to force everyone else to though to feel good.

Deep Space is still open PvP...You can also declare and PvP in any sector as well. By doing it this way people can complete the master mission and you can still PvP. There are far more PvE players than there are PvP players at this time. No one is stopping anyone from PvPing so go declare and we will see you out there.

I originally said lets remove the Ace pilot out of a PVP zone because not everyone wants to pvp. I think kesel should be a pvp zone, maybe just put a warning on the Imp Zone before you enter letting you know it is

just change the damn missles that one hit KO. its easier than screwing everyone up. or put a probability factor in to it. if your tier 3 and your opponent is master, they should make it so that you can temporarily become overt to them, and they wont be able to attack you. if you were in a group of two, and that happened, well there should be a even fight. one master against two tier 3's. still undoubtable but it can work. so make them attackable. ofcource this might get complicated as theres more enemies close up.

The players complaining didn't want the pvp removed from Kessel just the mission to avoid the chance for people to load kill as is happening in some servers at times during the day. We have been saying this since beta as we saw back then that issues like these might occur.

Instead of making another petition post which will not change anything do something more constructive and think what can I do to help people to pvp. As some servers are now beginning to organise pvp/rp events for people to fight in, pure pvp battles between each other. Just like the ground game when guilds used to arrange to fight at a location or base and pvp for fun.

There is a vast number of options for pvp events or pvp battles for players to take part in if the player base will organise them first.

Bingo!

With a PvP damage reduction and random loading spots or a load timer, all this crap about "Waaaahh...forced PvP is baaad!" will go away.

Why?

Less incentive for the griefiers to stick around.

The stupidest thing in this game is that you see tie fighters and rebels not attacking each other. Just LAME !! If I see Imperials attacking a rebel ship I should be able to intervene. The PvE'ers complain that their game experience is being ruined, but how people who just want to bring some realism to the GCW?

Why can't they make it so that if you fly a certain type of ship, you are overt to to certain other ships? Rebel ships are overt to Imperial ships.. Hutt ships are overt to Nym ships? Remove PvP decay so people have nothing to whine about if they get ganked ! If you lose nothing other than play time.. big deal!

Frickin' whiners are ruining this game!

I said it on my servers' post and i'll say it again here.

PVP. Been there a couple of times just knowing that it (Kessel) was PVP heightens your senses and forces you to be more alert. That's excitement. If im looking for PVE i might as well play X-wing.

If they want to get rid of camping, they should make the jump points static but give loading players 1-2 minutes of invulnerability while still being able to attack. A person would be stupid to camp the points if their prey had a good minute or so to take them out before they can even attack, and groups can still work strategies based on the known destinations of the different hyperspace routes.

I personaly have only pvped a couple times by challenging a couple people (and promptly getting served) but i too think its crazy to see a tie and a xwing teaming up to hunt pirates.

the way i see it, if you decide to fly for the rebels, you are declaring your side in a WAR. I would like to see everyone overt all the time, 100% forced pvp.

this is a MULTIPLAYER game, i bouhgt this game because i thought it would be fun to go play agianst other players in a mission setting, not a open pvp zone where you have no purpose other than killing.

now i agree that with the way the game works right now, forced pvp is very very bad.

first off, you need to give the people who are just starting out a fighting chance. one possibilty is you could make it so that someone using a tier 2 ship cant attack a tier 1 ship. then everyone would more or less be on even playing field.

also, you need to stop the decay on death. i agree that their needs to be decay to keep the shipright profession alive, but make it over time flying if you ask me.

i have been playing online action games for years, and you dont hear people complain about getting smacked down by another player because thats the whole point of the game. they just need to make it so that you cant get jumped by someone you have no chance of fending off, and they need to make death painless to the point where you just spawn back at the station and go.

A. Yep we need more pvp. 1 pvp zone in a mmo is just bad development.

b. Pvp souldnt be forced 100% of time. Give each side safe zones for missions and some pve. But 80% of space being pve is dumb, especially when its essiently worthless except for missions.

c. yep, I'm in an X wing, killing some ties - and another player in a tie sees me doing this and cannot attack me becuase im not "declared"....Totally weak.

d. To decay on death is fine, but dont decay looted parts instead decay only crafted (make looted parts more expensive to repair and deflate economy like devs want to).

Sierously once you master, and most will be soon, 80% plus of space is wasted.

Also, devs dont listen or respond to petitions

The solution is simple. Mitigate the damage done in PVP by a *lot*. I know they're going to nerf it some (25%), but that's not enough. Instead of nerfing it BY 25%, nerf it DOWN to 25%. One fourth of the damage. This way, Kessel will still be PvP, and greifing will be kept to a minimum if you have a large group. If you can get a group of 12 people, odds are you're not going to run across a group of PvPers that will be able to take you (with these new changes).

*ALSO*

Change the spawn point into Kessel to a random waypoint. That would help stop griefing as well, while still keeping Kessel PvP and making it a huge challenge.

Putting it down to a level of 25% creates as many problems as it solves. The person in a fast ship such as an a-wing thats hard to score a hit on already is that much harder to stop for the person floating along in a bomber.

And the fast movers can have plenty of defense let me tell you. My tie adv has 1700hp shields with a 11.0 recharge rate in a lvl 7 generator. I had 2 a-wings attack me with that generator and one scored a missile hit that i survived.

Starting out by lowering it 25% is a cautious step that i agree with.
